Hello all, happy Friday! I have been staying pretty busy with work, so not too much going on with me lately, not gotten into as much gaming as I have wanted, but here is a quick rundown of my recent thoughts/happenings:
Perfectionism
Lately I have become aware of a bad habit of mine, perfectionism. I think that perfectionism is very hazardous to productivity. I mean both in work life and in gaming. It is probably why a lot of the games I own has gone unfinished.
An easy example is the Angry Bird games on my iPhone. I will not move onto the next level until I have 3-starred the current level; Trials Evolution, I will not move on until I have gold medaled the current level and most recently; Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, having to S rank every mission.
I have been forcing myself to try to get over this of late. I have way too many games on my backlog to try to have perfect runs on every single level of every single game! I have to mentally battle my hands to pressing the button to move on, no joke. Trying to break this mental barrier I have created for myself.
Currenty Playing
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD (PS3)
Continuing my play through of the only Metal Gear Solid game I have yet to complete. This game's bosses are tough, you can definitely tell that they were meant for multiple players to be battling at once. Even a simple tank battle seems pretty difficult, which makes it more realistic I think. Single-handedly taking on a tank, jet or Metal Gear should be a difficult task for anyone. But other than the boss fights, taking on the normal soldiers is "easy" to me. I have played so much Metal Gear throughout the run of the series, that Peace Walker seems like a cake walk when dispatching normal enemies. The story seems good and I love the gameplay. I recommend so far.
Mercenary Kings (PS4)
This game reminds me a lot of Metal Slug, probably my favorite arcade game of all time. It is pretty tough though. It's pretty cool that downed enemies drop materials that you use to upgrade guns, armor and such. Pretty fun for a free game, I like it a lot more than Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition.
Recent Purchases
NONE
Kind of happy I have refrained from buying lately. Chipping away at the backlog.
The Last of Us, PS4 Release
This is awesome. I loved this game, I actually just finished playing it about a month or so ago. Loved every minute of it. I may pick it up for PS4 when it drops in price. The game was already gorgeous on Playstation 3, cannot wait to see it in next-gen! I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who hasn't played it.
