I did a few things this week it's been pretty interesting

Movies: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

This movie is WICKED one of the best put together films Marvel has done thus far and thats saying a lot considering the Fangasm that aas The Avengers and the epicness of Thor but they managed to make an intriging and at times emotional film.

I'll get the Action out of the way: Fantastic, same caliber as the Avengers but a tad more methodical. What do I mean by that? Well before the end there's usual only one thing (event) going on at a time meaning you can consentrate more on what you should be looking at. Now it does suffer from the dreaded "Shaky-cam" Hollywood seems to make there action better but anyone spoiled on Kung-Fu movies KNOWS to make you fight scenes memorable you must keep the camera focused and steady till you highlight key moves or change in intensity (which the camera trick over compensates for).
Anyway, the 3D parts are damn near seemless the est examples are Winter Soldiers metallic arm and sometimes the Falcon's wings, they look like they REALLY could work, very detailed very intricate they made one of comics goofiest costumes plausible.
Choreography is really nice, there are many fight scenes, one on one and otherwise (as in one vs many). It's a very exilerating movie and even the more bombastic at no time did I feel it was excessive (looking at you Man of Steel), you love the Nick Fury car scene, it's one of the best car chases you'll ever watch.

Story: it's literally superheroes espeonage, double crossing deep history conspiracy and a nice comentary on current and past politics, sme more subtle thn others but nothing is perfect. The feeling of unease, escalation and drama rise but unlike some OTHER movies it never stops being fun. When the bad guys are revealed it is damn near seamless, now some of the comicbook/movie history might go over some heads but the film makes a good job of establishing backstory.

Characters: We watch how Cap essentially ajusts to being out of his era seeing his country damn near worship him and his fellow soldiers sacrifice, how his genuinly nice nature puts him at odds with protecting his country his best scene is seeing him with his former love interest aged in a hospital with alsiemers, it puts things in perspective for the audience and speaks well to his character. Likeable as always.
Black Widow, the aloof, pro spy is as fun as ever.
The new comer Sam Wilson aka The Falcon is a genuinly god addition, he and Cap have great chemestry ou know they'll be ood friends from the very start of the movie, he is very capable and usefull to the plot not only for developing Cap but for his own progression from an inactive War vet to literally the partner of Captain America. I hope they colour him red one day and expand his power set, his flight scenes are fantastic
Nick Fury, he is soo cool really cool, his car chase is one of my favorite scenes later in the film he has - what american black dudes like to say - "Real N*ggaz don't die!" moment, and I REEEEEALY wanted to say that in the cinema too.
The Director of Shield (Robert Redford) is great in this, he is a really good actor very smart, very confident.
The Winter Solder is an emposing enemy very cool calm and collective, even though he's silent and doesn't do anything distinctive, he still bares a good screen pressence.

Music: though nothing stands out to me I do remember liking it it didn't overshadow the action, it wasn't unnoticable It fit just about every situation.

After credits scene: worth the sit down, if only for comicbook fans but a Major Villain is revealed here and two other villain/heroes Wink

Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers 2 will be fantastic.

Games: Darksiders II

I have soo many games in my back catalogue I don't know why I started this, but so far so good. Death is a far more interesting character than War (I suppose it's his voice) story and characters are intersting enough though I wish I could get with the combat, it may just be me but the combat in the first felt better.
I'm not too far in it, just a bunch of errands and fetch quests and -as always- unanswered questions.

Well that's it for now, I didn't spell check this mess, sorry Tongue Out

I had to leave so I missed the after after credits teaser. I have never been a big Cap fan, but of the marvel flicks his have been the best in my opinion. Although that may change after Guardians, I am really amped for that one.

I didn't mind the shaky cam as much as I usually do, it seemed paced well enough. I still thought Falcon looked kinda goofy though, given the overall tone of the movie.

I did love the twists and turns in the story though. This felt more like political thriller a la Bourne than it did like any of the previous Marvel films. Apparently, that's cause that's how the new comic books are, where they based the first movie on the old 'Cap comics.

I thought the characters were the best part of the movie. They really fleshed out Black Widow, 'Cap, and Fury, and luckily the actors all had the chops to pull it off. I loved the addition of Falcon as well, those VA scenes are some of the most powerful, along with the Alzheimer's one you mentioned.

I was ok with the after credits scene, I guess, but I'm getting tired of the Tesseract to be honest.

I remember reading about that boner-laden Batman comic on http://cracked.com lol.

Looking forward to Guardians Of The Galaxy simply because it will be nice to have a more comedic super hero movie to change up the pace between the more serious ones. Star-lord 4 life! Tongue Out

they seem to be mixing the tone up more, experimenting with the genre. It'll be like farscape on the big screen.

Now i'm hyped to see it and hopefully it will be better than Thor:TDW (it was good but inferior to the original in my opinion).

I liked the winter soldier too, just bummed to find out what happened to SHIELD. I kinda liked that organization.

Plus I'm not sure if I'm okay with them changing the twin's identies even if their orginal concept probably wouldn't have worked in the movies.
