Blockbuster or Gamefly?

Ive seen a lil bit a talk about Gamefly flying around and I got curious to if anyone uses blockbuster or refuses to use rental services. I dont dislike Gamefly but I dont agree with their prices because their shipping service isnt worh the money you spend for their program, atleast it wasnt with the experiance I got with my trial with them.

Gamefly

1 game-$15.95, 2 games-$22.95

Blockbuster

1 game-$9.99, 2 games-$14.99, 3 games-$19.99

I use blockbuster, it does have the disadvantage of not getting new games in to rent when they release but good prices and better yet, good shipping gives them my award of best online rental site. I pay less and get games in good time and they get them back quite quickly too. Now can their be a wait period? Sometimes, yes but I rather just be patient because it doesnt happen all the time and the wait isnt way long. I used Gamefly once and it would take forever to just get a game from them, I rented 1 game from them my entire trial because it took forever to get to my house. Which is sort of ridiclous since I live like only 3 or 4 hours away from Austin,Tx where one of their game shipping centers is.So there ya have it, my little opinion on game rental services. I have no clue about redbox, they never have any games in the machines where I live when im near one because there all rented out. How do ya'll feel about rental places, whether online or store?

For me: neither. I was tempted by Gamefly about a year ago but I heard too many stories about slow shipping like you mention

I've used Gamefly off and on in the past 2 years. I would keep a membership around 3-4 months and then stop. During that time, I'd buy more used games from their store than make use of any rental copies. Getting a new or recent game is damned near impossible, however. As far as shipping speeds go, I'd say it varied. Sometimes it was a few days, others it would be a week. I don't hate the service nor do I love it (when it comes to rentals, at least), but I don't feel strongly about renewing a membership with them anytime soon.

If I had a game system right now Id def renew with blockbuster but I certainly wont use gamefly. Im glad you had an okay experiance with shipping though. I jsut found no reason for it to take that long from where I live, especially after I got the notice that the game was indeed shipped and it took a week to get to the house. They do have good game sales though, so they can have that Pro in their favor.

I would use Blockbuster if there was still one near my house, but it closed when they filed for bankruptcy, or soon after, anyway. Used to go there all the time.

I don't want to use Gamefly, just cause I don't want to add monthly costs.

As for Red Box, I don't have new enough systems to benefit from that for games, but I walk to the ones outside Walgreens and 7-11 nearby and rent movies all the time, especially since they're both on my daily walking route.

Joe the blockbuster pachage deals I posted on here our from their online store. I dont use the physical store. They have an online rental service and it works really good. I understand not adding a monthly cost though, if you ever decide to try a rental service my vote still lies with blockbuster. Thats awesome you have a daily walking routine, Id be outside walking myself but my allergies get played back and forth too much with the weather changing all the time.

Yeah, I took a long hiatus from my walks for a while cause it was too cold outside, and I have allergies as well. I din't realize you were talking about an online service though, I'm just so used to Blockbuster being brick-and-mortar (I used Express, their answer to Red Box once or twice, but still) that I didn't know they had online stuff. I'll check that out if I get the cash necessary.

I currently rent from gamefly...yeah they are too high.  Shipping isn't terrible for me.  I live in East TN and my games ship from Tampa.  I get them in 3 days (one way).  I never thought about Blockbusters online service.  I will have to check it out.  As long as the selection is good, not getting new releases is not a problem.  I don't get them with gamefly anyway.

They keep a good selection, atleast in my opinion they do. You can look up their games of course without having a subscription so when you decide to investigate into see if you like the the game list.
