An all online PS4 slim. Interesting. I might consider that if the hard drive is big enough; although, maybe it doesn't matter since your purchase info is saved on their servers and you can download any game you bought at any time. Maybe not forever though. That's a thought. Still, I'm tempted to go all online purchase for the new systems. It seems like the way it's going anyway.
Super Shopping Sunday

EDIT: Due to my poor run-on sentence writing style, several people have been confused about PS4 Slim information given to me by a Gamestop employee today. Please read the bolded clarification in the paragraph introducing this information. Thank you.
Who would have thought the day after Nick changed my name for me, I'd have such a perfectly alliterative title for my blog? You can't plan these things.
Real Life Stuff
Anyway, after I opened up the station and did some work, my friend asked if I needed to go shopping, and I did, so we headed to Kroger. I bought almost $50 worth of groceries, but considering some of the deals I got and the fact I haven't been grocery shopping in a month or two, I don't think I overdid it too much.
I couldn't resist $1 crab cakes, so I bought 4. They also had a deal on strawberries, 2 packages for $4 with Kroger card, and I bought some broccoli to cook later. My ex-girlfriend's dad and girlfriend made the most delicious broccoli and mac and cheese when we visited them in Austin a couple years ago, and I like broccoli anyway, plus I need to eat more vegetables. I'm pretty much running on dairy and meat, thanks to the low-calorie (2000/day), high protein (150g/day) diet I'm on. Speaking of which, I bought more skim milk and am going to try some lean ground beef, since it matched my nutrition needs better than every other kind, and was reasonably priced to boot.
I also bought shower stuff, soap, and some Scrubbing Bubbles stuff for my bathroom.I gave my ex-girlfriend a tour of my super-clean apartment the other day, and she was impressed, but I definitely had to put the lid down to hide the one stain on my otherwise virtually spotless and well-organized pad. lol I think I made her feel bad though, cause she keeps texting me about needing to clean her place.
Showing her my apartment before driving her to her place was a bad idea, cause my car needed oil, and while I was waiting for the engine to cool, I needed to pee from the "OMG, Starbucks can go fuck themselves"-delicious French Vanilla coffee from Exxon, which was $1.70 total for both our 12 oz. cups. She would not let me in to her "disaster area." lol Luckily, I found a bush creating a shadow in front of a brick wall that wasn't in front of any windows, so I waited until the parking lot was clear and went.
Virtual Entertainment Stuff
After we'd both headed back to our apartment, he cooking oatmeal for himself, I watching a bit of Dr. Strangelove on RedBox Instant; which I'm definitely not keeping, cause Netflix has everything it does and more, and I'm not paying $8/month for four movie credits, when I could just walk to the kiosk and pay the same for those movies anyway; I drove us to Game X Change and then Gamestop.
He found Quake for N64 pretty quickly at Game X Change and he seems excited about it, so that's cool. He used some of his store credit for it, then gave me the $11 or so he had left as a late birthday gift.
I was eyeing Spider-Man on N64, which I rented a lot as a kid, Sonic Advance 3, which I've heard is pretty good, and Mega Man Anniversary Collection on Gamecube, but ultimately used it towards The Simpsons Complete Second Season on DVD, which I had to still pay about $5.20 for after store credit, but it was what I wanted most. Hopefully, the DVDs work, cause they looked scratched and the girl at the counter had to put all of them through a CD buffer machine. They have a 90-day trade-in guarantee though, so we'll see.
Then we went to Gamestop and I bought Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright for around $20, which is what I would have paid on Amazon. The girl was nice and helpful, and it went quick. I feel sorry for all of you who've experienced shitty Gamestop employees. All the ones I've encountered in Nac are nice, knowledgeable, professional and helpful. Game X Change empoyees seem aloof or tired at times, but they've never been bad either.
I had my eye on OkamiDen, but I saw that it was cheaper on Amazon and we left. I noticed on the door, it said you could get 50% extra store credit for your trade ins, so I dropped my friend off, found my copies of Golden Sun and Mario Kart: Super Circuit (they were in my GBA and DS ... I never said I was Super Smart ...) and grabbed my copy of Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth and its receipt, and left to see what I could get.
There was a shift change while I was away, and this time it was the girl with the nose ring. She said they didn't take GBA games, which was fine with me, cause I was a bit hesitant about trading in Golden Sun anyway, even though JRPGs aren't really my thing, cause it makes me feel like I'm playing Super Nintendo more than any other GBA title I pop into my Game Boy Player on Gamecube. She said, mind you after scanning my PowerUprewards keychaun thing that gave me 50% extra trade-in value, that I could only get $4.50 for Miles Edgeworth which I bought from the same Gamestop not more than a month or so ago for close to $20. Well, since I now had the first Ace Attorney game at home, and this trade in made OkamiDen's price about the same as it was on Amazon, I said fuck it and traded Miles Edgeworth in for OkamiDen.
One thing I will say employee-wise is that I didn't like her calling me "sweetie," cause I look younger than I really am, though I bet I'm older than her and don't like "cutesy/condescending" words like that being used to address me. But she didn't use it in a condescending tone, so I rolled with it.
She took significantly longer to ring me up after asking for my driver's license, and said they had a whole long process of checking people out now, cause some kid had broken into his own house (parents' house, really), stolen all the games, and traded them in to this GameStop, to his mom's fury. He apparently broke the glass to get in and everything, despite living in the house he robbed. These are exactly the kinds of shitty little brats that make them have to unplug the PS4 and XBO controllers because people try to steal them I bet. I remember when I was growing up and all the kiosks worked, but nowadays I'm lucky to play 2K b-ball on a PS4 at March Madness Music Festival. Fuck that kid for making me wait, and probably ruining kiosks for everyone with the help of his dipshit friends. I swear when I'm older I'm filling my lawn sprinklers with poison that specifically targets those 10 and under.
Anyway, while she was ringing me up, I asked if she knew of a PS4 price drop happening any time soon. She said there should be one in June or July, when they come out with a digitally BC PS4 slim. I said if it's BC like the original PS3s were, I might just pay full price for that. She said she didn't think the physical PS or PS2 discs would work, but I'm excited to see what they do with the digital BC for those systems (to clarify, I'm pretty sure it'll play at least PS4 and probably PS3 discs, but PSX and PS2 discs will be BC by digital means ... and I'm reading on unofficial sources that PS4 Slim is 2 years away and seeing nothing about it online otherwise, so she could just be shitting me), if I understood her right. Of course, it sounds like they could just upload a digital library to PS+ and do it that way, but I guess something slightly more special involving BC is supposed to accompany the PS4 Slim launch.
And now I'm back at work, cause it's raining and I didn't want to get sick doing my thrice-a-week sprint hills today. I already did it three times this week anyway, Sunday is an optional rest day, so I'm taking that option. lol
In other news, NacBurger's Bacon Avocado Burger is delicious, I'm gonna try some Maklemore's burgers tomorrow with one of my DJs (it's a restaurant recently moved into Nac, not the rapper), and there are Pokemon mascots for NBA teams.
Last night's Mavs game against the Suns nearly gave me a damn heart attack, but ultimately, we're seventh-seeded and headed to the playoffs.
I like our Pokemon logo, too.

All I have left today is more work and seeing The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug at 9:30PM tonight in Baker Patillo Student Center theater, as it'll be the last one showing for the semester. I'm still kinda pissed the free admission pass I got from when the projector didn't work for Lone Survivor couldn't just get me a $2 snack pack instead of replace a $2 ticket, since I've already seen The Hobbit, anyway, but oh well.
