Super Smash Series?

How cool would it be if, the way Marvel makes movies tying into Avengers installments, Nintendo et al. could make games about the characters in Super Smash Bros. that all tied into the eventual tournament?

Obviously, some series like Metal Gear Solid couldn't bring this up in the actual storyline, but a good little scene once the game ends wouldn't hurt anything.

Also, this music would work great for an emotional death scene in a movie, like where a character gets shot out of the sky and all the sound effects drop out, leaving only the visuals of character reactions etc. and this music:

Just some random thoughts I had yesterday that Chris Y.'s poll today reminded me of.

I'm willing to bet the guys behind The Lego Movie would make a fantastic Smash Bros movie.

My favorites in the Smash games are Kirby and Princess Zelda. They should team up! And that's all I can think of to say right now.

I don't know that I like Kirby as much as everyone else seems to, but I still want my Sheik game.

I should play a Kirby game the whole way through before judging though.

I like this concept and my first thought was "It sounds like a Nintendo version of Mortal Kombat". All the characters with their storylines getting together for one epic battle.

Ooh say you're playing a character's game and you complete it, and in Marvel fashion after the credits there's a cutscene where that character is invited into the tournament. I would play this

I was thinking of the Mortal Kombat movie but with Super Smash Bros. characters and a final battle with all of them at the end.

That'd be pretty interesting. Sort of how like in the first Metroid Prime if you got 100% you'd get a little glimpse of what's to come in MP2.

And yet I never did finish MP2, cause I hated the Dark World shield mechanic. I need to buy that some time though, I only ever rented it. I actually got pretty far, despite my frustration.
