What system are you playing this on? PS3? I was thinking about snapping this up in light of its currently lowered price on the PSN, but the last time I got into an MMO I lasted one month.

Hey Pixlbit bloggers/readers. Hope everyone has had a great weekend so far. Lately I've been debating on buying Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. With a lot of thought, reading reviews/impressions and watching videos I finally caved in and bought the game. One major reason I bought the game was my girlfriend. I didn't realize it till later, but she actually played an MMO before when she was younger till the first year we got together. It was a game called ToonTown. So my whole dilemma about paying for a monthly subscription fee vanished because I realized my girlfriend also paid for ToonTown.
I've been playing the game for the past few days now and I'm still getting used to it. So far I've been doing a lot of fetch quests and exploring around the first town you play in. As I play, I look up forums on where to go to do certain tasks and how to work my way into leveling up my character better.
The controls took a bit of time to get used to for me. It's not my normal type of controls for a game, but I have to understand this is an MMO and the format looks more of a PC game. I've been doing okay for my first few hours. Getting to know the area a little better, learning certain terms and knowing where to go at times. I can't say this game is phenomenal because I just started to get a grip of the beginning part of the game. I know I have hours and hours to put into this game before learning everything, but so far I'm enjoying it.
For a first time MMO, I'm glad I picked this one. A buddy of mine was recommending Elder Scrolls Online so I can play with him and a few of our friends, but I didn't really get into the Elder Scrolls series. I played Skyrim, but never passed it. I actually had a friend level me up to 81 in one night and then I started to play. I got more into the Fallout series though. Anyways, I didn't see myself buying a $60 game that I was kind of interested in and then pay what I would assume a $15 monthly subscription.
Final Fantasy XIV: ARR does have a montly subscription. One main reason why I didn't see this as a problem is because of the price of the game itself. The $40 price point was a good area for me and it even includes a free month. GameStop has an offer going on till the end of the week where if you buy Final Fantasy XIV bundled with a 60 day game time card, you get a $14 gift card. I took a chance and went with this offer. I'm actually glad I did this because the 60 game time card is $30 and you basically get it for half off.
So with the $14 gift card and some credit I had with my GameStop PUR card, I also picked up Rayman Legends for the PS4. I never really got into any other platforming games other than Super Mario, but I read reviews and saw videos on Rayman Legends and I've seen/heard good things about this game. I actually thought of getting it before, but no store around my area had a used copy. I'm glad I refrained myself from buying a used copy because I happened to find one earlier today.
I didn't complete Rayman Origins because it was free on PS+ a few months ago so I just put it in my backlog. I tried it out to see if I really wanted to get Rayman Legends and I started to enjoy it. So lately I've been playing a few stages of it and really enjoy it. I looked at the stage selections and the different "campaign" sections and I estimated how many stages there is for each of them and I assumed it was around the 60 stage number. For $36 used, I think this is well worth it. I would've even paid $40.
So that's what I've been up to this week. I would like to read about what you guys and gals have picked up recently. Maybe something might spark my interest. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
BEYOND!
