An updated version of the famous : A Wonderful Life game called Oh! A Wonderful Life was released in Japan for the PlayStation 2 in November 2004. The English language version was called A Wonderful Life Special Edition and was released in late 2005. While very similar to the original version of A Wonderful Life, some extra items and events were added in addition to an updated soundtrack. The most notable changes were the ability to have a daughter and marry Lumina (a character players could not marry in A Wonderful Life).
On the surface, Natsume's excellent farm sim/RPG Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland is a simple game. When I first heard of Harvest Moon 64, I said to myself, "How can they make a game about farming? What's there to do?" But soon I found out. There were chickens to be fed, fields to be plowed, seeds to be planted, and ladies to be wooed. Harvest Moon 64 was one of the most deep, engaging games I have played. That same spirit continues in Save the Homeland, except this time, in addition to raising a farm, you have to find a way to save your land from impending doom. Developers want to come in and turn your community into a resort; you have to make sure that doesn't happen.
But before you do that you'll have to learn how to run your farm. The following guide is intended to help you get a fast start so you can get your farm on track immediately, begin making money, and focus on the other task at hand...saving the homeland!
One of the neat things about the way the game is structured is how you gradually discover the successive levels of the sim. As you start out, all you have to deal with is a little farming, learning how to keep your crops alive and producing. Once that becomes de rigeur, it's about time to get into animal husbandry -- you learn how to keep your dog happy, then the chickens, then the cows, then the horse. If you ever bore of that end of things, you probably have enough money to build a kitchen and start cooking. Once you can cook, hey, you can start bringing cakes to the girls...
Harvest Moon: Back To Nature was the first title of the Harvest Moon series to be released on the Playstation. Though many Harvest Moon games have been released since then, including Magical Melody, A Wonderful Life, and Harvest Moon: DS, Back To Nature is still considered a fan favorite.
The game is rated "E" by the ESRB, and is further rated as depicting use of alcohol.
Though many of the characters are taken from Harvest Moon 64, they have somewhat different personalities, families, and occupations. Then there are some new characters who did not appear in HM64, such as Pastor Carter and the Doctor.
The Gameboy color this and the N64 are the ones that started the Harvest Moon series.
