I know I've been pretty delinquent lately about posting these OCR Spotlight blogs. Life has been busy! Hopefully someone has missed them. OCR recently released its 47th tribute album, this one for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time for the Super NES and TMNT: Hyperstone Heist for the Genesis, called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shell Shocked. It's a rock and metal album and this spunky remix of the first level in Turtles in Time is an excellent showcase. The grungy lead doubles down right away and doesn't let go. The remixer said he was going for an early Van Halen sound, if that tells you anything. It's a very fun track. Check it out!
Be sure to check out the rest of the album too. It's free, so you don't have an excuse not to, unless you don't like Turtles or rock, which would be sad. Wow, three commas in that sentence! Anyway, it's good stuff. Cowabunga!

Ah man Sixto Sounds. I was wondering where they got to. I have a track of their's from way back that I love. It's this Go the Distance song from Tales of Symphonia. Love this track!
There's some super shred goin' on here and that keyboard pumps me up!
I'll check out that new one for sure.

I was a little too old to get into TMNT when it first came out. I didn't get into the toys and I only watched the cartoon because I knew someone who worked on it. But when the arcade games came out, boy I really got into those! Later when Turtles in Time came out on the SNES, my little brother Jeff and I played it a lot. If I accidentallly nabbed the pizza, Jeff would whine and cry out, "MOOOMMMM! Cary got the pizza!" Don't blame him, he was just a very little kid. But we still joke about that today!

I can't see the videos for some reason, but Turtle Rock sounds like a good time.
Interestingly, since you mentioned a Van Halen sound, Bruce Springsteen opened with a cover of "Jump!" when I saw him at March Madness Music Festival a couple weeks back.
