There's gaming stuff in here today, I promise.
Anyway, I fell asleep at 6pm or so last night and woke up around 4am to my phone updating me on some damn good looking sports scores from last night.
Dallas Mavericks won on the road 113-92 to tie their series 1-1 with the San AntonioSpurs.
Dallas Stars beat the Anaheim Ducks at home again 4-2 to tie that series 2-2. I'm gonna say that if the Stars win, goaztecs must find a Whataburger to eat at in TX in May when I go to In N' Out in Cali during my L.A. trip. Bet? lol
And in baseball, the Texas Rangers beat the Oakland A's 3-0, while the Boston Red Sox beat the New York Yankees 5-1.
Let's
Go
Teams!!!
As for you, beat the Yankees and go far, but I want a Texas Rangers World Series win this year
My sprint hills were not very hard today, considering the good news made me excited for a run. Hopefully, this will all translate into getting all my work done as well.

I celebrated a bit by playing some more Okami Den, which I'm quite enjoying so far. It's a bit more linear than The Legend of Zelda in that it tells you pretty much exactly what to do and where to go, even for side quests (which I'm not sure are really "side quests," but anyway), to the point where the beginning of the game has a GIANT FUCKING RED ARROW on the screen at all times. I'm really glad that went away.
Another gripe is that the camera is fixed and as far as I know cannot be messed with, meaning if I want to paint a certain object, I have to get in the exact right spot for it to yield the desired effect. There are some awkwardly placed objects that can make this annoying. I mean sure what I'm talking about is optional, but why make it an option then make it harder than it has to be?
I'm also not a fan of not being able to speed up text during cutscenes. You can skip the cutscenes, yeah, but I want to be able to see the beautiful artwork cutscenes while also being able to speed past some of the plodding text and visual pauses. Is that too much to ask?
Furthermore, the combat is predictable, repetitive, and a bit too easy so far, though this may be due to it still being somewhat early in the game. For those who've played it, I've just shown the sick girl the fireworks, if that gives you an idea. I've played for maybe 4-5 hours so far.
Speaking of that sick girl, this game can get pretty dark for a cartoony adventure starring a feminine boy riding a puppy. The sick girl was supposedly incurable and dying and the descriptions of some of the demons involve hate and child murder at the bottom of rivers, human skulls, and the like. Yeesh!
Despite the complaints I listed here, I do really like exploring and painting and helping NPCs out in the awesome-looking cel-shaded environments, and I want to see where the story goes. I definitely feel satisfied with it overall, even if it's not perfect.
In other video gaming news, I updated my Pixlbit Collection and my backloggery.com account (Josteph), but I'm a bit confused about how to add people to multi-tap. I wanted to add Leeradical after he commented that my Steam backlog was huge, but when I went to edit my multi-tap, it said to drag boxes, of which there were none to be seen. I tried searching for people as well, but that didn't work out. Help? I also want to customize by page like Lee did with his.
Speaking of that Steam backlog, because of the 27 of 28 listed Steam games I haven't finished (25 of which I also haven't played), I have a 63.6% unfinished backloggery, where if I were to remove all 25 unplayed games from the equation, I'd have a 58.5% complete backloggery. 61.5% complete were I to remove the played but unfinished Tomb Raider and Fez.
I look forward to dwindling that unfinished number down, then making it huge again when Steam has another big sale or hundred.
Back to work!
