You're probably already aware that an expedition is underway searching for millions of copies of the worst game ever made in a concrete covered landfill.

It seems they had some success.

I wonder how much they'll fetch on eBay? :D

I had E.T. as a kid.  It was terrible.  I remember playing it and being like "WTF?"

such a weird story, that they all ended up being thrown in a landfill. like -- now what are they going to do with them?  Throw them in a different landfill?

I tried to post the blog from my RT and it truncated everything as well as not allowing me to cut and paste the link.

Oh well Matt R. already blogged so use his. LOL

I saw the news first on Matt's R blog and then got the confirmation on Tumblr. When I read it I was like "I knew it!"

I couldn't believe the myth was real... I thought it was an Internet joke gone serious.

I read about this on my Flipboard yesterday. That would be funny if these "long lost" carts make a ton of cash because a lot of folks would want a piece of this odd history.

Well there's another video-game myth proven true, though I don't think I'd be paying top dollar for a copy of E.T. any time soon.
