5 Things I Love About Spiderman 3

So I've been on a Spiderman kick lately, excited for Amazing Spiderman 2. I love the webhead and most of its adaptations (just don't ask me about the Ultimate cartoon). Hell, I even like Spiderman 3. So I thought I'd make a list of why I love this movie that so many people hate. The film has its issues like Topher Grace as Venom, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy it.

5. "How's the pie?"

I don't care how many times I watch that scene, it always cracks me up.

4. Peter vs Harry

The movie certainly kicks off in a fun way, with Harry enacting his revenge against Peter for what Harry thinks is killing off his father. It's full of some really good stuff: Peter fighting outside his suit gives a nice change of pace, him losing his grip on the wedding ring was a pretty intense scene, and the way the fight ended with Harry getting really hurt so early in was unexpected.

3. J Jonah Jameson

There are two things that everyone, no matter how much they hate the original Spiderman trilogy, can agree upon: Willem Dafoe is the perfect Green Goblin and JK Simmons was the perfect J Jonah Jameson. And Jameson continued to be his hilarious self in Spiderman 3, giving his usual comic relief. Is he as funny as 1 and 2? No, but he's still good

2. The black suit corrupting Peter

I know, this is considered one of the worst, most stupid things ever, but I still love it. And you know what? It actually makes sense when you consider what Peter Parker is like. He's awkward with horrible social skills. So when you think about it, his corruption causing him to act so lame and obnoxious makes perfect sense. This is him trying to act cool, so it coming off as a complete disaster just makes perfect sense. It's cheesy and stupid, but it still fits perfectly in my mind.

1. Sandman

I love the Sandman. He's not just one of my favorite Spiderman villains, he's one of my villains ever. But even as a huge Sandman fan, I'll admit it's not the character himself or the writing that makes me love him, it's his superpowers. And in that regard, they nailed him. Yes, making him Uncle Ben's killer was stupid. Yes, they overcompensated to make him a good guy WAY too much. But once Spidey got in a fight with him, everything was perfect.

Yeah, 3 is my least favorite, but it's still a good popcorn flick in my book.

Ignoring the title, I felt this was appropriate, especially since he says he likes the third film. For the record, upon rewatching this, I don't agree with everything in it, but the general premise that really all 3 are good for what they are (summer popcorn flicks) and have related problems I do concur with.

Amazing didn't have near the impact on me the first Spider-Man did when I was a kid, but then again I was a kid. Overall, I like the chhanges. I'm looking forward to Amazing Spider-Man 2 as well.

SM 3 just felt bloated but there were plenty of good moments. It's the cheezy stuff that kinda irks me, that keeps me from ever revisiting it. I don't think there's anyone who can make an argument for the commentary by the reporter during the final fight; her dialogue is atrocious.

Best unintentional comedic moment: the sequence where Harry regains his memory through this montage/flurry of images and there's that bit where he asked Peter "Is my dad dead?" and Peter says "YEAH!"

ASM2, not too shabby. I think you'll dig it, I hope so at least!

there's things about 3 I like too, which makes it hurt all the more.  You're right though, Sandman was perfect.

I never had the time to watch this one so hopefully i'll do it someday. Odly enough, ASM2 got an early release here on Belgium so I'm going to watch that this week.

I love all the Sam Raimi directed Spiderman's. His goofiness comes through at times, especially in 3, but I love it all. He knows how to make these movies fun.

I don't think I ever saw this movie, but I think I might own a copy.

I like Spider-Man 3 well enough, though some of the cheesier moments in the film are a little annoying even to me.

Spider Man 3 was a bit painful for me though I was able to enjoy it to a degree. The dance scene though was almost the last straw for me. Though it is interesting that all three movies almost share the same drive to the story.
