Great start. Please keep us updated. I really want to play this but can't afford any more new games. I will have to wait to rent it. I can't wait to see what open world elements open up as well as how good I hope the puzzles will be.

Just finished up my second session with Tomb Raider. I will try not to give anything away[no spoilers] as the game starts off with a bang. I will keep this blog about the general characteristics of the game. First of all the graphics are incredible. That's to be expected of a game borne of so much effort. It is brilliant how they used shadows and fire. Fire plays a big part, even opens up new paths to explore. The water is simply amazing. Some of the best effects in that area I can recall. To put it bluntly, this is a visually stunning game to behold.

Lara has to get tough rather quickly. She is exposed to death and brutality right away. She ends up battered and bruised, but intact. That is when her journey across the island begins. There are some elements similar to another recent island adventure.....Far Cry 3. In that you get skill points with which to upgrade Lara's abilities. And you can fast travel from one campsite to another. I've just begun to hunt. Had to track a deer and kill it with a bow. Had to fend off some wolves as well. You can upgrade weapons by finding stuff in crates here and there. The cut scenes are very well done. They get you involved emotionally in the story much like those in The Walking Dead game.

It's been pretty much non-stop action from the start. But I know there will be some exploration and puzzles to solve eventually. I am very impressed by the controls. They are just fluid and intuitive. Never get frustrating like on past Tomb Raider games. Lara can jump enormous gaps and save herself with grabs. The moment I saw a log coming up I thought "Oh not this balancing act crap again" to myself. But she waltzed right across it with only minimal work on my part. Just have to hold it steady and go a bit slowly. Ok,enough of my jibber-jabber.....anyone else tried it out yet? What did you think of it?
