Oh Monday, you’re here, and why did you bring windy cooler weather with you? At this point it’s becoming a tease with triple digits, and then 70-80 degree weather the next week. I see a pressure headache in my future because of all this…blah! Anyways hello Pixlbit, hope the weekend was good to you, and you enjoyed some good Sunday Night television. I watched my usual Game of Thrones but since one of the HBO’s is the East Coast Feed, I got to watch it at 6pm and I caught the Lego Simpsons episode, which had its moments, and there were a shot that at us folks who like to separate Lego by color and place certain sets in plastic bins. Since it is Monday it’s time to check out what Chris has been playing since last Monday. Sound fun? Well good, let’s get started!

MLB The Show 14 – PS3/PS Vita

I think it was around last week when I finished off my second season of Road To The Show, where my created Chris worked his way up to the Show, won Rookie of the Year with a half a season, made the playoffs and

The Dodgers defeated the Tigers in the World Series. Created Chris was edged out by Adrian Gonzalez for World Series MVP, but I think its because my player had a rough 1st Round Series.

The next season after some negotiations about the contract, I had a new one year deal, and currently I am in the middle of May of my first full season in the MLB and I’m leading in all the triple crown categories.

Metal Gear HD Collection – PS Vita

I forgot to mention I picked this up last week during a PS+ sale. The controls are a little odd for me because it uses the back touch pad but the first game I played was one I really enjoyed on the PS2

It’s been a long while (like the year that I bought the PS2) since I’ve played this so I’m a little rusty, but when the first boss battle hit, everything clicked and I knew what to do. I’m still early in the game and getting used to the layout but I’m having fun.

Lego Marvel Superheroes – PS Vita

I sunk some time into this game after the Lego Simpsons episode, and I’m really digging this game. Instead of the game being a stripped down version of the console game, it is a beat’em up within the storyline of the console game, and it incorporates all the goodies like gold bricks, mini kits, and collecting studs to buy items in the store. This is easily my favorite of the handheld versions of the Lego games because it’s a completely different game than the ones found on the consoles.

Disney Jonas – Nintendo DS

So I decided to give this a go. It sat on my floor since I bought it a couple of weeks ago, but after I charged up my 3DS XL aka Big Gameboy, it was time to try it. You play as the Jonas Brothers, in what I am assuming would be an episode of their TV Show. You move your character around by clicking on a spot with your stylus, and from the level I played you interact with items that make noise. When you do this you have a meter that fills up and when the meter turns orange, you hit it and a guitar prompt shows up on the bottom screen. Here you strum with the stylus while pushing the D-Pad in the correct prompt. This is a pain in the ass if you are left-handed and use the stylus with your left.

I finished off the first level where you are prompted to save by interacting with a juice machine. I don’t think I’ll be playing this in a long while. For $3 it was worth it for the laughs of having a Jonas game, but I found the game itself not that interesting. It’s nowhere as good as The Bachelor game.

Escape from Zombie City – 3DS DL

Remember when I said this game looks like a happy Dead Nation? Well it is, and this game is fun. You are a little military guy and you have to shoot, blow up, and fight your way through a wave of Zombies all while rescuing random normal folks, and picking up ammo refills, and looking for a key to unlock the door at the end of the screen to finish off the level. You have a bunch of different weapons, and you can either shoot every Zombie on screen or make a path through them. Controls are simple, graphics are cute, with utilizing both screens as the game screen, and there really isn’t anything wrong with this game. It’s a perfect inexpensive shooter on the 3DS.

On The Line – iPhone

This was a Starbucks freebie (instead of picking up the iTunes free download cards from the counter, download the Starbucks app and every Monday a new freebie is available for download)

The point of the game is simple, you press on a dot, and you “follow” the path. The path is moving and you try to not hit the walls or any obstacles. It’s a new take on the typical runner games you see on tablets.

There main game mode screen is simple and you could either play through the game to unlock other modes or kick a couple of bucks to the developers to unlock everything.

I think I did pretty well on my first try while watching TV.

Family Guy Quest For Stuff – Android

Still slowly making progress but I did unlock

This took a while but I got her walking around my town. I made some improvements to my Quahog, and expanded a bit

And this quest made me laugh

Simpsons Tapped Out – Android

I did my every other day check on my Springfield and I finally unlocked the new characters

Miss Hoover is unlocked when you unlock the Ah Fudge Factory. You also get the mascot Cocoa Beanie. The storyline for this building is Lisa and her class go to the Fudge Factory on an educational field trip.

Real Racing 3 – Android

To celebrate the news that RR3 has teamed up with Porsche, they released an uber exclusive super expensive car

When you add all the upgrades you dominate the Porsche group of races. Some of the races however you aren’t allowed to use this super car, which sucks because it makes it more of a competition. I did however unlock all of the other cars for these races, and I’m still hopeful I will complete this game

As for the in game trophies I think I am maybe 2 away from earning them all. I need to disable the brake assists and win a race, and I think the other is actually playing all the race groups. I’ll try the no brake assists with the super Porsche.

Before we end today’s blog, yesterday was May 4th or Star Wars Day. This was easily my favorite pic from all the Star Wars stuff I saw

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Apparently, Abrams sat down with his wife to watch Into Darkness and admitted there were too many lens flares. So maybe he'll tone it down. Hopefully. I still like both those Trek movies haha.

I'm glad you mentioned MLB, cause Rangers pounced on the Angels yesterday and blew them out. Glad none of my teams were not on the receiving end of such a spanking. Not even one. Nope. May 4 was an amazing day for all Dallas/Arlington teams. Yup.

By tone it down I hope he means to add them in every scene. My friend and I have a running joke that if Abrams teamed up with Michael Bay for a flick there would be lens flares on top of explosions.

Oh that game was bad, after the 2nd inning when the Rangers did a lot of their damage I switched over to see what Vince Carter and Kawhi Leonard were doing...I had that game on and went to playing some baseball on the Vita.

Wait, there was a game based on The Bachelor? Whoa.

Heck yeah there is! The Bachelor follows The Show but in place of dates, there are mini games. You beat your competitor and win a solo date with the girl/guy you're competing for. I think there are four mini game "dates" before your solo date, and you unlock that person. It's hilariously bad, but I like it.
