I have this:

Headline: [MMPR set for Live-Action Return to Big Screen by Lionsgate]

aaand some bad news:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2014/05/07/nintendo-misses-wii-u-and-3ds-sales-targets-posts-229m-loss/

I'm sure they'll come back from it, but not sure how yet, though Sapphire and Ruby will help.

Not gonna lie, I'm glad Facebook has a trending section now. Keeps me informed about the stupid shit I care about.

Ah, back when the Power Rangers were worth watching (I'm sure my childhood nostalgia has nothing to do with it). That stinks about Nintendo's profits. I did hear about those Pokémon remakes though. Makes me wonder what they're saving for E3.

It's totally your nostalgia. Go watch it on Netflix ... seriously, it's definitely your nostalgia. Except the theme song, which is still genuinely awesome.

I don't care though, I'll see it for nostalgia.

Regardless of any quality or lack thereof in the show, the SNES game was legitimately good.

Oh yeah. Short but sweet and awesome music. Probably my favorite beat-em-up.

That said, the movie one was a bit too merciless for me to get into.

When my little brother Jeff was very young, he had a Power Ranger poster above his bed that looked like that picture you posted.  One night before bed he pointed at each of the Rangers and said who they were.  The Green Ranger was Jeff, the Pink Ranger was Mommy, and the Red Ranger was his Daddy.  When I asked him which one I was, he said, "Uh, you're the robot." Hmmm...

Pre or post the Green Ranger being evil, I wonder.

Oh I have no idea.  I know one year when Jeff was little bitty, he was the Green Ranger for Halloween and everyone thought he was an elf.  Which made him mad, of course.  When Jeff was little he said he wanted to be a ninja when he grew up.

My inner 6 year old likes the Power Rangers, but he doesn't love it as much as nostalgic teenage/early 20s stoner me.

Current me is very aware of how cheesy and stupid it all is, but he still loves the theme song and might shell out cash for this. Laughing

I thought that I read or heard somewhere that Nintendo could post a loss for the next 20 years and still not actually be in the red.  Maybe it was a joke or a dream.

Nintendo is generally careful with their cash. They do have a pretty sizable cash reserve, so while this isn't good, it's not going to hurt them much.

All the same, I hope they realize they need to change if they want to remain profitable, as opposed to just doin' whatever cause they have a lot of Bowser-guarded gold.

Never liked Power Rangers...of course I was in high school at the time so I naturally called them Voltron wannabes. I do have a complete set of Power Rangers The Movie trading cards. Target clearance out packs and I bought a wax box for something like under $10.

Geez Nintendo, I finally come back and they're losing a ton of cash. If I could get more of their older content from Gameboy, and Game Gear for a couple of bucks instead of $5 each, I guarantee you my 3DS XL would be filled with games I grew up with.

Well yeah, high school is that age where you accept those 80s and 90s kids shows for the toy commercials they are. The fact you somehow own a related sale item from the series anyway is something that makes me say, "only you, man." haha

As for Nintendo, their giant reserves should keep them out of the red, but if they want to be back in the black as far as they once were, they better step into the future.

I like both, so I feel pretty good right now. As far as Nintendo's financials go, I'm sure they'll bounce back at some point.

I dare not show this to my wife. She's already excited over the return/remake of Sailor Moon coming out this july.

Atleast ther wii U or the 3dS don't feel like what sega went thru with their dreamcast: One last year then totally caving.
