I don't know what it has to do with Mother's Day really, but it was under $10, so I now own the two more critically acclaimed Bioshocks; of course, transmet2033 would say 2 is his favorite, even if he doesn't necessarily think it's the best one. Hey man, TASM2 is my favorite Spidey movie, and I doubt many people would agree, so I feel you.

Kinda wish I'd waited and just bought that trilogy set on sale now for under $15, but it is what it is.

Anyway, I have no opinion, having not played any of these, but which in the trilogy is your favorite?

There is a slight difference between best and favourite.

My bad. Will change.

Overall, I would probably say that Bioshock is the best because of its story.  I prefer Bioshock 2 because the mechanics are superior in nearly every way.  The story is subpar, but servicable.  I think that works to the games benefit though because it makes it easier to replay the game.

Infinite's the only one I like. 1 had piss poor shooting IMO which ruined it for me and 2....no....just no.

What makes Infinite the only one you like?

I would buy the game, but i'll first try to finish the first Bioshock and then go to the second game regardless of opinions.

If I hadn't owned the first one already, I'd have bought the trilogy for $14 or so and done the same.

I'm hyped to see ASM!

One thing I will tell you before you go: it is just as much a mess of a plotline and just as fucking stupid as everyone says it is. I simply happen not to care and ... honestly kinda like that about it.

I do agree Electro and Rhino should have been removed and Goblin and Gwen/Peter should have just been the focus, but hey, we get Paul Giomatti and Jamie Foxx hamming it up and some good action scenes, so it's not a total loss.

As transmet2033 said, there is a difference between best and favorite. SM2 is still the best, TASM2 being my favorite.

If there was more Rhino, and not a mechanical one, I might have gone to see it. Somehow I've been into Rhino ever since I battled him in the Ultimate Spider-Man game.

I think Rhino is far too goofy to work in any movie that is trying at all to take itself seriously. This one both was and wasn't, and the tonal shifts were a bit odd, but I guess I wanted both emotions in the same movie, cause I loved the hell out of it.

People who prefer mechanics over story enjoy Bioshock 2 more. People who prefer story like the other two. Personally, I feel the first one is better, but that's because it has more depth in gameplay, has a narrative that not only works on its own, but also as an exploration of objectivist philosophy and a satire of gaming. It's also more of a horror game than the second one, which is basically Indiana Jones with racism and time travel.

At the end of the day, they are both worth playing. They are games every gamer should at least experience. I can't play Bioshock Infinite again because I don't like the mechanics and the more I think about the plot the more it falls apart. However, while you're in the experience, it is one of the best you'll have in gaming. I mean I went out and bought the poster immediately after!

I thought Indiana Jones movies had racism and time travel. Huh. Guess I haven't wacthed the little of those movies I've cared to watch in a long time. I'm pretty sure there's racism in those though. Time travel may have been only that fourth one everyone hates?

I'd go with the first Bioshock. The atmosphere in that game can't be beat. I just loved exploring that world. 2 and Infinite are fine, but neither got into my head like the first one. After a while those splicer's insane yelling started to get to me and give me a dose of nerves.

That's cool.

I believe I have all three yet I've only played a part of the first one. Oh you'll dig how I got into buying these games: So Target (big shock) clearanced out the PS3 Limited Edition version of Bio2 that came with an LP of it's soundtrack, a CD soundtrack for the first game, some cool posters that I think change in black light, and an art book, all for $17.

I do need to get into these games because people I've talked to really love them.

I'd definitely have bought that too. $17 is a great deal for what you got, even if that sale were happening today.

I still haven't played a Bioshock game, but I've seen some parts of each that really make me wish I could.

funny story. I ended up bying this game used on PS3 just so I could get the DLC that was also on sale, but instead of paying for the DLC indivdiually I cheated and bought the season pass just as Burial at sea part 2 was released. Saved five bucks so I call that a win.

Love the first and original. I actually enjoyed the second one more than I am with infinite right now.
