Microsoft has betrayed their fans again! Not a trolling blog.

Please read this article below that I'm about to link. I'm not name calling or trying to anger anyone for fun. This is not even about the console wars or if Sony is better or not. However, this article shows one of my reasons that I don't trust MS. I back this writer's opinions though, and I would be furious if I was an early Xbox One purchaser. Please share if anyone agrees. And I hope this is within the guidelines of this site as I don't wish to be banned.

It seems that Microsoft is offering a second bundle option which does not include a camera, but the camera bundle is still available. I don't own the system, but I would have preferred to have the price reduced which still included the camera and Kinect features since it is what sets it apart from other console systems. Now it just seems to be the lower powered box compared to Sony. I was hoping for more advanced features with the Kinect tech and XBone interface. Is the Kinect 2.0 features so bad that it would cause people to rage at being forced to pay for it, oh probably.

You should be fine. The community here is pretty cool about letting people do their own thing, especially when they are passionate. You should hear the misogyny blogs. lol

Anyway, the Xbone situation isn't all doom and gloom. When I first heard the news, I was like Finally! But I can see this viewpoint as well. I know I would feel gyped if I was an early adopter. Thankfully, I am a wait and see kind of guy. At first it was the mandatory internet connection and drm, then the used game ban. I hope they figure out what their console is one day.

They could fix it if they combine the unit into a router/ cable box setup and forge relationships with Comcast and Time Warner. Also, the Kinect being separate is no good. Too. Damn. Bulky. House the motion senser in the unit, or have it tiny like the Wii sensor bar. But I fear that it would become even more huge, like the size of a TV. Also, give me backwards compatibility or I give you nothing. Thanks for listening! (sic)

Hey GM good to see you around, I was wondering if you'd join us here on Pixlbit! I can certainly see your point here and understand that some who adopted the system early might feel the bite but with Kinect I suppose we can't fully predict whats around the corner. It's been reported that the new generation of consoles will have a 10-15 yearlife span so it's plenty of time to make kinect relevant to gaming however at this stage I remain skeptical.

The ironic thing here is that when a company makes a statement about their product, its the consumer who decides if that statement is true, adjusting their stance is necessary if the consumer feels differently and if they bullishly slog on (a la Nintendo) then they can lose some serious face so I understand why Microsoft has changed their stance. I like X box, it fits with my idea of gaming and the 360 was one of the best gaming times I ve ever had, perhaps new developments will make the XBone a force to be reckoned with and I personally think Microsoft has made a smart move to focus on the 'multi media entertainment' idea as thats what will naturally come forth over the next decade, however I suspect that Apple will steal the show beofre long in that regard. MS are just trying to secure their place in the newly emerging market.

Again good to see you, hope you stick around.

I think that this move makes the Xbox One a little bit more appealing, but I have issues with it.  The biggest problem that I have right now with the changes that Microsoft has recently announced is that they are removing all of the unique selling points of the Xbox One.

I don't think that exclusive software should be the biggest differentiation between the consoles.

I didn't buy a Kinect for my 360 because I have no desire to flail around in front of my TV like I'm doing the "Elaine Dance" from Seinfeld. I also do not want to yell things at my console to get it to work.

Motion controls were a bit of a gimmick when Nintendo deployed them on the Wii. Kinect has taken that gimmick to the "Ministry of Silly Walks" level and then added voice controls.

Hey voice control was fun for about 5 minutes in my car but at least it had a safety aspect to it. In the home it it spans the "lazy as fuck" to "completely pointless" spectrum passing through "watch me mommy, watch me" on the way.

I think it's a good idea that they are making Kinect optional but it should have been that way on day one.

The word "duh" comes to mind.  MS got rid of Kinect to lower the price of the XB1.  Who didn't see this coming?  This is not a "don't trust Microsoft" issue.  Every person that makes an early purchase on any console is worse off than the people that wait, IMO.  Example: the people that bought a PS3 for $600 (and more) compared to the people waiting and getting a PS3 for less than $300.  All early purchasing means is that you get to play on the console before most people.  That's really what you are paying the extra hundreds of dollars for.  It's not like the those first few games are the greatest or even that much better than the games still releasing on the previous gen consoles.

Im with you on this thats why I wait to buy next gen not only is the library bigger with more games but you usually get a better deal I mean I waited on the ps3 and last tax time bought a 1.5 gig ps3 slim slapped in a 500 gb hard drive and got all the games I have been waiting for so I really dont mind waiting like you said your only paying extra to play before everyone else.

So you're the great Gamemaster I've heard so much. Must say none of it was really good. But, if you're not going to be a trolling douche I have no problem with you. Welcome aboard!

Honestly, though, I feel like the dropping of the kinnect is a good thing that offers choice. It's good to see Microsoft aren't above fixing some of their mistakes. Anyway, it was a well written article with some well argued points. I enjoyed reading it.
