Saints Row: The Third really is amazing

I just finished almost everything I could do in Saints Row: The Third. I had never played a Saints Row game before, and I definitely didn't realize how off the wall crazy that game would be. The game had such a great variety of gameplay, from helicopter missions, tron-like racing missions, a morbid reality game show, or just simply blowing things up. I was really surprised not only at the variety, but at how well it worked. The racing portions felt like a pretty good racing game, the shooter parts felt like a good shooter, flying was easy, driving was easy. Even better, almost everything was accessible from early on in the game.
One of my favorite moments of the game is when you are in a virtual reality game and your avatar in-game keeps changing - at times you are just a toilet hopping around shooting a "buster" gun imitated from Mega Man's Mega Buster. The Mega Buster knock-off hit my sweet spot. Also, there's a portion of the virtual reality game where it "lags" in game. The lag is hard on the eyes, but it's funny that lag is actually a feature of a part of the game.
Saints Row was a huge breathe of fresh air and was easily one of the most fun games I have ever played. I'm glad that I decided to experience all the rage of THQ's GTA knock off - I actually enjoyed it more than GTA IV. Did anyone else play this game and have a hard time putting it down?
