I just finished the latest paperback release of American Vampire (Vol. 5) as well as volume 1 of Coffin Hill and am looking for my next series to get into.

I think I'm at the point now where I wanna start reading some of the New 52 collections. I've already got my eye on Batman, Batgirl (which I hear is awesome) and possibly Shazam. Anyone have any suggestions for other books I should consider picking up? I'm open to anything really.

I was thinking about Batgirl recently. Maybe I had a dream about her or something.  She would be a fun character to write.

I've never read anything Batgirl focused so I'm looking forward to it. I always kinda assumed she was  a nothing character but I'm glad to hear she's written well

Wait, Dial H came back in 52?

I'm not the biggest fan of Wonder Women but I guess I've never given the character a fair chance. I'll add her to the wish list and check out the rest to see if they look interesting to me

Despite that I like Batman and all I don't think I'll dive into 52. I think I'm more of Marvel fan anyway, recently reading Guardians of the Galaxy.

I've traditionally always been Marvel too but the past few years I've just gotten bored with their characters. I've been reading a lot of image and vertigo stuff the past year but figure I'll see how the new DC stuff turned out

I've been following Silver Surfer and Harley Quinn in the new 52. Silver Surfer is really out there, which I like, but I'm not super excited with it. Harley Quinn is a bit too jokey for my taste but it has good moments. I love that character, so I stick with it.

I've also been following the Original Sin series that's all about The Watcher, The Avengers, and other characters. Doctor Strange is in it but not a lot. Any bit of Strange I can get, I'll take though.

While I do like the character of Harley Quinn, I can see her book being a little silly as you say. I know she was in a team with Catwoman and Poison Ivy at some stage which sounds interesting though I forget the name of it

I was always a big fan if the Silver Surfer though. Glad to hear his newer stuff is somewhat decent

That series was Gotham City Sirens and I've read every issue. It's fantastic and doesn't go the silly route at all. Paul Dini himself wrote it initially and then handed it off to others but it was good its entire run. Great series! I wish it was still ongoing.

That's the one, I was actually looking into getting the series a few months back after The Comic Conspiracy podcast talked about it. Its pretty difficult to find now though unfortunately

I'm actually missing a few of the very first issues of this 26 issue run. Btw, Guillen March did great art for the series as well.

I saw an Ultimate Carnage book at the Universal Citiwalk comic book store I thought looked pretty awesome.

I used to collect Ultimate Spiderman when it was first released and it was really good. I bet at a minimum the artwork for Ultimate Carnage is fantastic. The Ultimate universe was pretty badass though I'm so out of the loop now it'd take quite a time sink to catch up again

I've heard that Animal Man is pretty cool, and that's about as deep my knowledge of the new 52 goes.

I heard the same actually though I know nothing of the character. I just got in the first two volumes of Batman and the first volume of Batgirl so i'm set for a while Laughing

Still thinking this is the Dark Ages of comics right now. Nothing so far as caught my interest enough for me to give anything a go. I'm still having a hard time getting into videogame based books.

You need to check out the new 52 Batman run. It's pretty damn awesome especially if you like the Bat
