I'm hoping for ME4 and a Crash reboot at E3 too. Reading your blog also made me want to give Ground Zeroes another spin, that was short, but damn was it good.

Currently Playing
I started playing The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings (Enhanced Edition) on my PC, I had bought it at one time on sale for around $5 on Steam. Up until now I have been able to play any game on my PC at max or ultra settings with no problem. The Witcher 2 changed that. The recommended settings when the game scans my hardware pops up as “low settings recommended”, I was really surprised. Even on low, the game was very choppy and in my eyes, unplayable. I got really frustrated and uninstalled it. This has put me off PC gaming for a bit, and reminded me exactly why I avoided it in the past.
I happen to own the game for Xbox 360 as well, so I restarted my game there. I installed the game to the X360 hard drive and it was a lot better. But…after pumping 3 hours or so into the game, I decided I didn’t want to play it. The combat just sucks in my eyes, there is so much going on, too much in fact. You have to parry and try to counter attack while trying to get in attacks of your own. I just was not enjoying myself and I have too many games on the backlog to try to sit and force myself through a game I am not having fun with. So for the time being, I have lost all interest in Witcher games, even though The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt looks like it will be great.
So while I had the Xbox 360 plugged in, I decided I would try to play another game I have been meaning to get to on there, Halo 4. With the announcement of Halo 5: Guardians and all this talk about the possible Halo 1-4 HD re-releases, I thought I would sit down and play the one Halo game I have yet to complete. First and foremost, this game looks really good, a lot better than I remember Halo 3 looking. The story seems interesting so far, I am on the second “level” of the game, so I am not very far at all.
On the Wii U side, I have been playing New Super Mario Bros U. It’s pretty fun. I think it is a mixture of both Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World, the levels and music seemed ripped right from those games. I am on the second world, enjoying my time with it. I can’t wait to see if the newly announced Gamecube controller add on will be compatible with it and all other Wii U games.
I have also been playing Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and I have to say that I think it is easily my favorite Playstation 4 game. The gameplay is the best in the series, taken straight from Peace Walker with some added mechanics. The story is dark and interesting, nice change, yet it still has some fan service moments. Phantom Pain cannot come soon enough.
I have also been playing Trials Fusion (PS4) and Hearthstone (iOS) when I have limited time to sit and play a game, Hearthstone is especially good for that.
Recent Pickups
Been on a spree buying Wii U/Wii games. I recently picked up New Super Mario Bros U, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros Brawl and Metroid: Other M. I was able to get the Wii games pretty cheap.
Metroid: Other M looks interesting and different, I got it pretty cheap, so I thought I would give it a try. I really want to start a game of Wind Waker HD, Probably will be soon. Waiting for my Mario Kart 8 to arrive in the mail, I am hearing you get a free game when you register it with Club Nintendo, I will probably get Pikmin 3 with that offer, pretty awesome.
E3 Wishlist/Predictions
E3 is coming fast, I usually look forward to the time when we will know what we will be playing for the next year and beyond. Last year was one of the best E3’s I can remember because of the announcement/reveal of the new consoles. Last year also was a great time to be a Playstation fan, as they seemed like they could do no wrong.
The best thing about E3 is the unknown quantities out there. Stuff that seems to just come out of nowhere, which seems rare now that pre-E3 announcements have become a trend. Project Beast leaking is an example, what would have blown my mind if I didn’t hear about it already, definitely looking forward to hearing more. I think it would be so awesome if it ended up being dubbed Demons’ Souls 2.
I would be interested to see a remake/reboot of some games like Resident Evil, Onimusha or Crash Bandicoot. Maybe hand these franchises off to some other developers and see what they can come up with.
Nintendo and Sony are the two main companies I am looking forward to. My wishlist for Nintendo announcements would be: Zelda for Wii U, Metroid for Wii U, a new Mario Bros game, new Mario Party for Wii U and most importantly some new IPs (all for Wii U). Some unexpected projects would be cool like maybe a new Eternal Darkness game.
Star Wars Battlefront 3 on PS4 is an awesome concept. Hopefully we will see some gameplay this E3 and that it will be released this year!
As far as Sony, I am looking to hearing about The Last Guardian, Project Beast, been hearing some rumblings about a new Syphon Filter game, for once actually want to hear about the new Madden for next gen, the new Uncharted, Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy XV, a new Parrappa the Rappa game, Mass Effect 4 and some new IPs as as well.
