Well good morning Pixlbiticans and happy day of big events going on in a convention center in the land of Clippers. Yes I know many of you are hitting refresh on your computers hoping to catch it at the right moment when the first presentation starts. I’m not going to lie last year I watched Sony’s big presentation and of course tweeted about it. Sorry folks who follow me on Twitter who got a lot of “Well that’s interesting” and “yeah I’m buying one on release day”. My favorite was a comment about how ugly the PS4 is, and I still stand by that. Anyways I hope you folks enjoy what you see/read/hear over the next couple of days and whatever platform you play on, anyone who enjoys games will come out as winners.

So since I had a headache for much of yesterday I didn’t get to do a lot of gaming…plus there was a Law & Order SVU marathon. Stabler and Benson were the…you can finish this. Also it was episode 9 of Game of Thrones and if you follow what happens every season of Thrones you know this is big. I decided to focus today’s entry on three games that I enjoyed.

Nano Assault – 3DS

While hanging out on the couch watching Stabler and Benson take down that episode’s bad guy (I do like the episode where they find the killer of some woman who was trying to marry into some rich coffee barons), I popped this game in and played a bit during one of the episodes I didn’t care for.

Nano Assault is a shooter that takes place inside cells where you pilot a little plane twin stick style (the nub steers, and the buttons shoot in a given direction). In the early stages each level is different, but the concept is still the same: shoot the crap out of the virus, collect jewels, parts of DNA, and don’t get killed. The best part about each level is that you always start off with 3 lives and if you die you continue from that level. I got through the first three stages of the first cluster but the forth level is quite a doozy.

To make the game easier there are power-ups you can buy between levels but I haven’t taken advantage of this because of arrogance. That ended after the third try at the forth level, and then an episode I liked of SVU popped up. Did I mention thank you USA Channel for these marathons!

MLB The Show – PS3

I took a mini break from the Show, and I went back and I was still on fire. I was hitting around .500 until a three game series with Milwaukee where my average dropped to .450. I keep chasing sliders that drop to the outside bottom corner of the strike zone.

My team in Road to the Show Mode no hit the hated Giants in their house. Created Chris went 1 for 4 but that one hit was a triple so I can’t complain. It would have been better if it was a homerun but I’m not getting the fun pitches in the middle of the plate anymore.

I hit another pitcher with a line drive and broke him. This time it was former Angel K-Rod. I still think this should be a trophy

I also did some editing of video game Chris by trying to recreate one of my favorite shoes the Air Max 95 Neons

I think I did a decent job

It’s a little dark but it turned out ok especially with the Dodgers wearing throwbacks while the Brewers for this one-day didn’t wear their MB Glove jerseys. I wish I could pick out jerseys before the games.

Borderlands 2 – Vita

After watching the East Coast feed of Game of Thrones (how freaking awesome was that episode?) I decided to spend some time outside to enjoy the late afternoon, almost sundown, and squeak in some game play of Borderlands 2

That’s me and the beat up PSP wrist strap. I played a bit made some progress and stopped. Before bed I started it up again took down a story mission, and right before the final story mission when I went around collecting stuff it would freeze. It did this at least three times, so what I did was after picking up an item I would save, and then load the game from there. I started the final mission and once again it seems I maybe outclassed a bit by my enemies so I might go take on some side missions, and boost my Level to at least 33 or 34. I was having problems with the previous level until I leveled up my character and then it became much more manageable instead of emptying clips in a bad guy just to see them not fall.

Other Notes of Interes – Saw on Twitter and Instagram

I guess Richard Sherman is going to be on the cover of the next Madden

It all started with calling out Crabtree and his former coach, and now dude is on the Madden cover. I bet you Michael Crabtree is changing the cover when he buys this game.

I tried watching some of the MLB Draft, and holy cow this is by far the most boring Pro Draft. Heck WNBA Draft is much more interesting. My Aztecs had six players taken from the 40 win baseball team. If only MLB jazzed up their presentation a bit, it would be more interesting. Anyway while casually following the draft through Twitter the Padres went ahead and did this

Yeah that just happened, and then the next day they created this

I’m thinking about slapping a Manziel 2 on one of my Padres jerseys now just for the laughs.

Well Pixlbit it is time to finish off this entry. Enjoy your watching of that certain convention that is taking place in the land of Clippers, and yay for that console that is getting a price drop, or how freaking awesome did that game look? *insert your own game and console names

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Been playing Borderlands 2 on the Vita myself.

Not too shabby, however, the thumbsticks are a bit too close to the touch screen and I continually throw grenades while attempting to look left.

Also; GoT was amazing last night!

Right?! I mapped the grenade button to the Triangle Button because I never use it. Such a fun game

Awesome episode, and I can't wait to see what happens next weekend.

I'd be watching E3 live if I didn't know I'd probably be less bored just getting the highlights later on ... who am I kiddin'? I kinda want to watch it live, but it's sooo late now.

Nano Assault sounds like a fun time.

I believe you are a Dodgers fan, yes? Well, I got a voicemail from friggin' Tim Mead of the Angels, so I'm afraid the universe has shifted back into place and we once again have differing opinions on sports teams. Aside from that Heat/Spurs series going on. That's a fluke.

Has the Madden curse still been going or when did that end?

I'm waiting for Sony's presentation later on today. Other than that I'm good. I get bits and pieces from Twitter and then I just look it up.

I'm an Angels fan. Created Chris got drafted by the Dodgers in Road to the Show and I have to wait a bit before free agency kicks in and I do my own LeBron Decision. It's odd rooting for the Dodgers in this game but it is better than my first team that drafted me, the Kansas City Royals.

I think the curse took a break when Barry Sanders was on the cover, and skipped over Calvin Johnson. Peyton Hillis I think got hit with the curse because he's bounced around since he was on it in 2012.

Oddly enough, the Royals are who the Angels were playing when the Angels won 6-1 at the game I saw in L.A.

I watched that game on TV. The next day the Halos got rocked.

I played the demo for Nano Assault EX, it was short but good.

Its a fun game. If you can find it for under $10, give it try.
