So Tuesday. We rarely meet here but today, but here we are. Hello Pixlbit! As you can see Me and Tuesday are trying to get along, so how are you good people? I’ve been away a couple of days, which you shall read about a bit later. This past weekend I took a trip to Arizona to visit family, help with some errands, and then back to Sunny California. Of course I did my normal thing of overpacking all the gadgets and games
I brought both handhelds, a ton of games for each and of course the tablet.
I also packed iPod Smallz with a ton of mixtapes, added a bunch of podcasts to the other iPod as well as this book
Yeah I had enough podcasts for 2.5 days, and a six hour audiobook. All that plus I have 20 chapters of the last installment of the Game of Thrones books (tell me how freaking awesome that season finale was). I was set, and I was kind of ok to miss the Season Finale of Thrones (thank you HBOGo for having this episode ready at 11pm Arizona time)
Four chapters of President Me and a couple of podcasts into my journey I spotted this
The California version is a tiny green sign.
After a couple of hours I was finally there, and it was time to spend time with the family. I watched my cousins play Minecraft and the 8 year old decided to explain to me what Mods and Skins are. He then showed me how they play Minecraft with a Call of Duty skin and they were running around shooting at other people. The game looked like Halo meets the 8-bit Super Mario Bros. game.
They played that and then I let them know that I had Minecraft on my tablet but I call it MINE-craft. We played a bit of some mode where one cousin was on the PC, and the others were on their tablets. They showed me they had swords by cutting my character. I did the same to them, took their weapons, and then they booted me from the game.
They explained the rules that I wasn’t allowed to kill their characters but they could chase me around. I said ok, and then proceeded to kill one of their pigs. I yelled out “The Lannisters send their regards” and was promptly booted from their game.
The youngest of the kids who sold me on getting Minecraft reminded me that he is good and I should let him play. Since he is a funny five year old, I let him design me a house. I wanted a pig shaped house but he said that’s weird and proceeded to make a regular house. The first thing he created was a big ass TV. He has priorities.
When he was done building a house with the big ass TV, I checked out some new offerings on Google Play
I guess Angry Birds has their RPG now
And it looks like there is a PGA version of Hot Shots Golf.
I downloaded both but haven’t tried it.
The next day was more of the same, but we also mixed in some looking through football cards. My 8-year-old cousin is a big Eli Manning fan, so as I was looking though his cards everytime a Jason Witten card would pop up I would say “Jason Witten, the best TE in the NFL”. I started doing that with other Cowboys “Dez Bryant, the best WR in the NFL” When it got to Romo I said “Tony Romo, QB in Dallas”, and even he got that and laughed.
Later that night after going out for dinner, it was time to watch some NBA Basketball (GO KAWHI GO!)
The Spurs were blowing out the Heat
Before the start of the finals last year I told a friend that Kawhi will keep LeBron in check, and be named MVP. I was a year early. The running joke among my friends is that Kawhi has the same expression for every emotion so to see this is an exception
GoAztecs posted this right after the game
GO KAWHI GO! It was such a great moment because one of our basketball players, the program that Steve Fisher built is the MVP of the NBA Finals! Aztec fans were going nuts! It was such a great feeling.
The next day for Aztec fans was filled with sadness
We lost one of our own. Coach Gwynn was always vocal about SDSU. He loved the school. He didn’t want Tony Gwynn Stadium named after him, but the then owner of the Padres pushed him to accepting it. I was at State for his first year coaching. It was awesome to have “Mr. Padre”, coming back home to coach his Aztecs. I didn’t start following the Padres until I got to San Diego, but I adopted them as my other team. There were so many characters on that team, but the one person that pulled it all together was Tony Gwynn. $5 Mondays were my favorite because for five bucks, along with $1.50 for the bus ticket, and $1 hotdogs, I got some fun entertainment for less than $10 and I got to watch one of the two best hitters in the history of baseball play.
Trying to get back to being lighthearted here…
Monday morning it was time to go back home. We packed up and headed back to California.
I tried out the 3DS camera. It was a grainy camera but I didn’t expect much. I left my 3DS XL on for the entire trip to earn some new Mii’s, and I think I added a total of 16.
I think I got all these folks from the freeway and the pit stop at McDonalds. I played some of the Mii games and I got to finish one of the puzzles
I thought this was cool. Quick question for you Nintendo pros: How do I get the fancy Mii hats? Do I have to play certain games to get the Metroid helmet, squid hat, and other things?
Random shot of The 10
On the way home a random icon popped up and we had to stop. It turns out that the tires on the rental had low pressure. Great going rental car company.
This was my view after checking out the tires.
Spotted this around Quartzsite Arizona. Arizona knows what’s up
I still think California needs a better entrance.
So that was my trip. I can’t really unpack because I’m back on the road again at the end of the week so I think my Quick Hits will be on Thursday. I have a couple of things to do but I’ll get to reading and replying to the blogs here on Pixlbit. I’m not avoiding you good folks, just a bit busy. Before I call it a blog I saw this on Instagram yesterday and I thought I’d share. Much respect to the Seattle Mariners
That’s all for now, more later!

It was a lot of fun, and the heat wasn't too bad. If anything it's on par with what I'm dealing with here in sunny So Cal.
Thanks, my cousins are hilarious, and they are addicted to Minecraft. If one is on the PC, the other is on their tablet, and the youngest is watching videos about Minecraft on Youtube.
A big ass TV is a good priority for a youngster. Just as long as he's not reading books, y'know? Lol at that age, my priority would have been a giant ass gaming rig.
Since we took the plane, I never did get to see "Welcome to California," just the LAX letters. Weird, since Texas has fireworks for literally every driver that goes by and the song "F*ck you, I'm from Texas" starts playing near the sign that says "Howdy, don't mess with us, but enjoy our fried crap" for every driver that passes by. I thought every state went all out like that.
I actually congratulated you re: Kawhi on Twitter and on here. Not cool about Tony Gwynn though, RIP. Funny Angels sign, I still have the little circular cooler thing they gave me. Did I tell you Tim Mead actually left me a voicemail to thank me for my e-mail? I probably did. Funny Cowboys joke, lol. Hopefully the offensive linemen we got will help Tony deliver when it counts. In Sports section closing, I can't see the Mariners photo, but between Macklemore having a song about one of their announcers and Nintendo of America owning them at least partially, plus me being a Ken Griffy Jr. fan as a kid thanks to his N64 game, I think they're alright.
Oh those kids love to read. The youngest saw a book, handed it to me and told me to read it...or in his words "READ IT"
Ahh yes the giant LAX and the odd pillars that light up. There isn't enough flash in that Texas sign. I was expecting much more . You would think there would be more to the California sign, but since there is a lot to see here maybe toning it back a bit is good.
I saw those posts! Kawhi made a lot of Aztecs proud during the finals. There was a lot of "Kawhi is an Aztec" talk and I did a lot of that on my Facebook Timeline. It was sad to read about Tony the next day because he was a big part of SDSU. I forgot to post the picture but in Seattle they added 19 to their field, and SDSU painted 19 at Tony Gwynn Stadium. I forgot to mention that in The Show, when I created my character I went to 28, for Gwynn's College Baseball number when my usual 25 was taken.
That's pretty cool that Mead left a voice mail. The Angels do give out a lot of cool stuff. My friend sent me the wine bottle cooler that I am currently using for my Vita/3DS Travel case. Romo should be fine as long as they don't abandon the run. If they keep it balanced he doesn't have to take chances in the 4th quarter to bring the team back.
Ah, you know I was kiddin'. I liked reading too, as long as it wasn't for school. I just liked TV more at times. lol
As for everything else sports-related, congrats to all of your champs, but guess who's from Nacogdoches? This guy: http://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/dynamo/article/The-man-and-the-town-that-built-U-S-star-Clint-5551099.php?cmpid=twitter-premium&t=1fe453c5bfd8ff4dd2
