This past week I feel as though I have been just going through the motions. I think that part of it may just be because of jetlag. Whatever it is, I don't really like it. I have had little that I have wanted to say over the past couple of weeks and I don't like it. Here is hoping that I can get back into the swing of things soon.
I will do my best to get you guys some pictures over the weekend. Overall, Japan was awesome. It was expensive, but definitely worthwhile. The one thing that I somewhat regret not bringing home with me is a Super Famicom and some of my favourite SNES games. There was an awesome used game shop in Akihabara, but alas I did not think that I had enough space to bring it home. I was also tempted to pick up Persona Q, but the fact that I have no way to actually play it or understand the story I did not. I took my 3DS with me on the trip, just for the streetpasses. I thought it was interesting that I got some people from the most unexpected places, like France, Germany and even Colorado. I think that I had gone over with under 20 streetpasses, but came home with well over 100. Had I done a better job of staying on top of them, I probably would have gotten 2-3 times more.
I got 99% and Platinum in Wolfenstein. I am missing on piece of concept art, but since I haven't found it during 3 playthroughs I decided to say screw it. This is actually my very first platinum trophy and I am proud of myself. I rarely seem to be able to stick it out to actually get them. Also, companies seem to choose some of the crappiest requirements for some trophies like playing multiplayer for 100 hours, or beating a game in a certain time limit, or beating the game on the hardest difficulty without dying once. Whatever, Wolfenstein is one of my favourite games of the year so far, but it was just edged out of the number one spot by...
Shovel Knight. I can say with confidence that this is my favourite game of the year so far. Thanks to backing the game I was able to download it yesterday, eventhough it releases today. I have only put and hour or so into it, but it has been enough time to know that this game is special, and fantastic. The nice thing is that you do not have to take my word for it. It seems to be getting a lot of praise in its reviews. My personal favourite is Kotaku's minimalist review, because you really don't need to read any of it because he used a lot of pictures to show you what you need to know. Oh, and if you are at all apprehensive, remember Shovel Knight is from some guys who used to work at WayForward...
