piano is fun. we have a piano, but it hasn't been tuned in some time, and it's kind of an heirloom, so it's not for fun, unfortunately.
I'm buying a computer soon so I won't be a dirty peasant anymore. Everybody else is doing it, so I'll do it too.

Hey ya'll! What has everyone been up to? You can tell me later. This is kinda like talking in an answering machine.
Anyway, I'm still at Bilby's. I go back to college on Wednesday, so I'll have motherfucking internet again! And I won't have to game on your filthy consoles you peasants. Although, speaking of, I beat Gears of War 3, and I really dug it. Now I'm playing Injustice, and loving it. Harley Quinn is my favourite fighter at the moment, because Harley Quinn is fucking awesome, duh.
Apart from all that stuff, I've been watching Misfits, which is AMAZING! If you haven't watched it, watch it now. It's about some kids who are doing community service who get super powers. It's dark, it's hilarious, and it's awesome. Oh, and Ramsey Snow/Bolton is in it, but he cuts no ones dick off. Although, knowing what happens in the show, maybe he snaps because he's sick of the bullying, uses the black guys power to go back in time, destroy winterfell and cut Theon's dick off.
Finally, I've been teaching myself to play piano. I can now play Promise (reprise) from Silent Hill 2, And Gwyn, Lord of Cinder from Dark Souls. I'm trying to learn the ending song from Mass Effect 3, but it's fucking hard. Btw, I'm teaching myself from what I know on Guitar, so I've probably got the fingering super wrong, but fuck it.
Anyway, that's my life. Bye.
yeah I've been playing my PS3 too, and I'm planning on playing my consoles more and give handhelds a break....
I'm getting a laptop, a Lenovo with dual GPU's/SLI. They're relatively cheap. I would like to get a desktop and spend less money, but I'm going to be traveling later in the year, and really need something portable.
With piano, the challenge for me is always coordinating bass and treble. You're probably way better than I am at this point.
Misfits sounds interesting and I love the band of the same name, so may check that out.
Whatever, I still want a console.
I go back to having actual classes July 7, so may we both have a good rest of the summer.
I'm actually really enjoying playing on a console. Don't tell anyone or I'll kill you :p
I don't have that problem, but I think it's easier coming off guitar because I'm used to both hands doing wildly different things.
And yeah, check it out. It is really cool. Religious cult zombies, shapeshifting, a girl who makes everyone want to have sex with her when they touch her... it's great stuff! Well... except for the granny boobs in one episode...
Always good to hear from you Blake. Tell Bilby to start blogging again ok?
I've added some more PC games to Steam but I'm still not really playing them. Actually it was my son who added 4 Far Cry games and Borderlands 2.
I actually played some Far Cry Blood Dragon (PS3) the other day and love the humour. I suck at it though and don't make it very far before I've used up all my health items and then I die. LOL
I keep telling her too. She's actually playing a number of games at the moment, so her usual argument that she's got nothing to talk about holds no ground haha.
What's holding you off playing on PC might I ask? First thing I'd advise anyone to get when gaming on pc is an xbox controller. In fact, if you have a wired one you can just plug it straight in and download the drivers from the site. Most pc gamers use gamepads :)
Yep I got myself the xbox controller.
It's cool for the games it works with. Unfortunately there are some like Soul Reaver and Omikron which you think would work but don't .That is of course unless you like your character to move while you aren't touching the gamepad.
The other problem is that my son is monopolizing the gamepad right now. I might have to get another one.
Level 3. I know. I just re-rolled. The game ran like crap originally, but now the game runs great for some reason. Patches? I just cleared the first area, Kingsmouth, and I'm leveling a bit before Savage Coast because it's kind of a nightmare. It's hard though. I'm using Assault Rifle build with a few heals. I'm enjoying the cutscenes and atmosphere. I'm gonna try to make it my MMO for the summer. I want to see it all.
How far did you get? Did you finish Solomon Coast?
Honestly, I will have to camp out and do a second playthrough of the starting town just to level up, because without a guild, this game is just a nightmare. If you're on let me know. I really would like to finish this game, it's that good! I don't mind grinding, cuz I'm grinding the beginning area anyway. Right now I'm playing Star Wars The Old Republic Onlince because it's a Double XP week, and Sith agent is totally rad story!!
Death.
That's all that really matters, Blake.
Just kidding. It's cool you're teaching yourself some piano. Have you ever listened to the solo pianist Dax Johnson? I love his music, he could pack a lot of emotion and nuance into his solo piano work. He was a big metal fan so even though his music is purely solo piano there's a certain darkness, power, and intricacy to his style. If you haven't heard of him I can come back with songs of his if you like. I'm pretty sure there's at least a couple of his songs on youtube I could bring.
No I haven't heard of him! Unfortunately, I'm using my girlfriends phone as internet so I can't look at videos...
However, if you're a fan of Death, I have two bands you need to check out ASAP if you haven't already: One is Atheist, who are a bit weirder, and Cynic, who's first album is death metal mixed with Jazz and electronica, their second it softer prog metal, and their third album is prog rock. They've been getting progressively softer, but they're still awesome.
I never heard Cynic or Athiest before, so last night while I was playing Spelunky for a couple hours I listened through all of Cynics albums and liked all of them. I especially liked that first album, Focus. I didn't love the robot voice but everything else was beautiful and weird in all the right ways. The consecutive albums are really great too, and thankfully they don't have the robot voice lol.
Since I still have Athiest to listen to I think I'll try to find some of that while I play games tonight.
Nice. Both Cynic and Traced in Air are in my top 20 favourite albums of all time. Not as fond of the third album, but it grew on me. Some of their EP's are great too. They remixed all of the songs on Traced in Air into a Radiohead-esque experience, and Carbon Based Anatomy is kinda amazing.
Atheist's first two albums are what you'll really want to listen to. What other metal stuff do you like?
I know the feeling. I get bburnt out on genres all the time. I can't play strategy games or RPGs at the moment :/
Ah well. I'd say Gears 3 is the best in the series... although I do like the challenge of 1. Except getting past the beserker in single player is impossible...
