I bought Resident Evil 4 and ... something else. Or maybe I didn't? Anyway, I had Broken Age already, might play that one next.
Steam Sale - the wrap up

Another Steam Sale, another feed of games to add to the backlog.
Overall this year, I’m extremely happy with the pickups I ended up with. I previously posted about grabbing Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War, Democracy 3, Final Fantasy VII & Final Fantasy VIII which I was most pleased about. In addition to that, I grabbed the following during the final week:
Europa Universalis IV
I’ve had my eye on this for a long time based primarily on my love for strategy games and the high praise it received from several podcasts I listen to. I think mentally I’m a few months away from beginning as I get the impression it takes a solid time investment to even begin understanding the inner workings. I’m putting a decent amount of time into Tropico 4 at the moment and would like to finish up FFX also before jumping into this. As a bonus, I understand there is a pretty impressive Westeros mod on the Steam Workshop for the game which excites me tremendously.
Torchlight II
I’ve heard a lot about this game since it released and at a sale price of $4.99, I figured why not. I think I’m going to use this as a palette cleanser of sorts while playing games which require greater concentration. I don’t think I’ll end up putting to much time into the game but I want to see what all the fuss is about. If it ends up grabbing me then great.
Broken Age
I had this on my wishlist based on art style alone. I’ll be honest and say that I’m not entirely sure what the gameplay entails but I understand that the story is meant to be terrific. According to Howlongtobeat.com, the main story lasts around 4 hours so I’ll play this when I’m looking for a nice change of pace on a slow weekend.
Broken Sword 5 – the Serpent’s Curse
This is the definition of an impulse buy so go ahead and call me a Steam sucker. I’m a big fan of point and click games though I don’t get to play as many as I’d like. My wife and I will probably end up playing this together once we get finish up our playthrough of The Testament of Sherlock Holmes.
In conclusion, with a total spend of $55.08 and eight games in the bag, I’m one happy gamer following this most festive of summer events. In addition to my future purchase of Destiny & FIFA 2015, I think this sale puts me over the top for the remainder of the year. I feel as though I came out with lots of variety and only hope now that my PC will play everything sufficiently.
So how’d everyone else end up?
