Well Pixlbit it seems that June is almost over, and I think that I hit some kind of wall where I want to knock off some games from Mount Backlog yet I don’t want to start them. Odd. I had a free weekend where my only goals were to take naps (check!), maybe get some baseball in (check!), and tackle maybe one or two new games (check…kinda). For today’s blog entry I thought I’d just ramble about a couple of randoms, nothing too long of a read
MLB The Show 14 – PS3
I’m in a battle with a rookie for the HR lead in June, but my claim to fame right now is this season I’ve hit three pitchers
I really do think this should be a trophy. I'm at the point now if I go 0-4 but hit a pitcher, it was a good game.
The Mii Plaza Mini Games – 3DS XL
I’m really enjoying these games. They’re simple and fun. Heck I’m carrying my 3DS XL with me wherever I go now just to either collect people through Street Pass or earn some coins to play the games I have. I really like Mii Force for its ability to collect newly recruited Mii’s to add to your ship. They bring in special abilities and if you recruit enough Mii’s (maybe around 10) its like flying around in God Mode.
Crosswords Plus – 3DS XL
I’m in my second hour of a giant crossword puzzle. It is a giant 51 x 51 puzzle that I’ve been working on for maybe a week. I think this is the last giant puzzle and hopefully there is another game mode that gets unlocked when I finish it. This game doesn’t recognize the letters A, G, and D very well. I’ve found that if I do the lowercase versions it seems to understand it.
Simpsons Tapped Out – Android And iPad
Over the weekend I completed all the Stonecutters Tasks and earned all the prizes
With the final unlockable being the Satan’s Anvil. I cleared out a section of my Springfield for Itchy & Scratchy Factory and had some space left over for this mountain piece. The next update I’m hoping for an increase in land.
Good old Gill is back and this time he is selling a solid gold mansion. Like a sucker I bought it and it really doesn’t do anything.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier – iPad
I saw this while browsing the App Store yesterday, and I decided to give it a try because it was the freebie of the week.
It’s a typical tablet game where you can either click on a spot to have your character move, or use the on screen controls.
Captain America and a couple of SHIELD Soldiers follow you around as you walk through the streets taking out some bad guys, collecting stuff, and fulfilling missions. Nothing too crazy, I’ll probably play a level or two before deciding if it’s a game I want to finish or remove off the iPad.
Rising Star App – iPad
I like the show, and the fan participation is a lot of fun. I figured I was going to shoot down artists I feel are not as good as the rest of the singers but once I installed the app, I felt bad for crushing someone’s dream. I wanted to be snarky, go Simon Cowell on these folks, but I couldn't do it. My voting ended up being yeses for everyone. There was one singer who sang Allison Krauss’ “When You Say Nothing At All” who I thought was really good. The rest of the country thought I was nuts.
Random Games I Saw On Android
I downloaded this game but I haven’t played it yet. I’m not a fan of the movies, and it would be nice to see a reboot with Gen1 robots. This will get some play time probably later on today.
While fixing a friend’s laptop, I spotted this on Twitter and installed it. The swipe controls are funky but it will probably feel natural after a couple of plays.
I didn’t download this, but what the hell, game developers. Who thought this was a good idea? If you’re going to make a game after someone from the Kardashian shows at least use Lord Disick
…I mean I don’t watch these shows, who are these people.
Alright Pixlbit I am off. I have a sizeable backlog of blogs from here, and I want to read about what you good people are up to.
That’s all for now, more later!
