Hello Pixlbit. Happy July 1st. I don't think there's anything to celebrate about this date (unless it's your birthday.) But today is the first day of pickups for this month. Just a quick post because I have a feeling I'm going to get more stuff this week. Anyways, the only game I got for today is Infinite Undiscovery. I don't remember how I found out about this game. I was just on the GameStop website looking for some price drops and ended up with Infinite Undiscovery. I remember I was also looking at Star Ocean: The Last Hope and reading reviews and forums about both of the games.

Seeing as how both games are from Square Enix, I figured they would be fun to play. I found Infinite Undiscovery for $7 but only paid $5 because of a coupon I had. Since this is an old 360 game, the graphics are a bit subpar compared to the graphics of games today but its still good looking for the year it was released. I thought the combat would be turn based like FF but its actually free flowing. You yourself are engaging the enemy with fighting combos. Some may think the combat isn't great but I found it to be pretty fun. There are a few tweaks that make the game uninteresting for some people but for those who are looking for a JRPG for the 360 for a reasonable price, I would recommend it.

I'm planning to get Star Ocean this week just to see how it is. I've read that the game has hundreds of hours to complete the story. I've seen some gameplay and the graphics to me looks like Phantasy Star Universe and the combat looks like an early version of the Tales series. Hopefully I can find myself a copy around my local stores.

Well that's all I have for now. I hope you all have a great 4th of July weekend! This year my girlfriend and I are actually buying fireworks! I'm excited because the last time I bought fireworks I was about 9 I believe. Usually we go watch fireworks at some parks and casinos, but this year I wanted to actually buy our own and light them ourselves. We'll also have a little barbeque going on so it should be fun. Let me know what your plans are for this weekend and hopefully you guys and gals buy some awesome fireworks. Make sure not to overspend so you can save for some games to buy haha.

Anyways I'll post again this week. Once again have a great 4th of July everyone!

BEYOND!

I'm on a new game kick right now and thinking about trading in my old games. I figure they will be there, somewhere, either as digital download or on Amazon or even still at Gamestop when I finally get around to playing them. I'm kinda resisting the urge to trade though. I usually regret it.

I have the same mentality. Games like GTAV, Mass Effect, Gears, Dead Space, CoD, GoW and others like that I will trade because I know GameStop has a lot of those games in stock. But when it comes to "rare" games like Dragon Age 2 (at least it's kinda hard to find where I live), Final Fantasy, Fallout 3 and JRPGs I don't trade. Sometimes those kind of games go for a lot since they are hard to find used but sometimes I can't fight the urge to not trade them. I never used to trade games until a few years ago. I usually trade in games when there's a good promotion going on or I'm really desperate to buy a game.

I remember trading in most of my Vita collection because PS+ already had them for free but I regretted it because those games took up so much space in my gb card. So I had to download, pass and delete them one at a time. Now I'm starting to bring back my Vita collection.

I stayed up late organizing my games for trade, wanting to trade the oldest ones in first. I made a stack of ten ready to go. Then in the mornin,g I decided against it. I'll keep my games at least until I've played them fully and completely. How could I think of trading Sakura Wars: So Long My Love for Wii.

I traded in a whole bunch of 360 games that I either passed or had in my backlog for the longest time towards my PS4. I kind of regretted it at first, but I really thought about it and I looked over my last saves of those games and the last time I played them were a few years ago. So I just decided to trade them.

I'm going to trade them after I play them thoroughly.

That's probably the best thing to do.

Star Ocean has the most annoying characters and cut scenes of any game I've ever played.  That being said, the game itself is really cool, and really fun, with great combat and fun exploration, and crafting.

The best Xbox 360 JRPG is Lost Odyssey.  Have you played that?  Tales of Vesperia is really good too.

So would you recommend Star Ocean over Infinite Undiscovery? Unfortunately no store around where I live has Lost Odyssey so I never had the chance to play it. Also is Blue Dragon a fun game? I heard it's on par with Star Ocean and IU.

Blue Dragon is a fun game, with music by Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy games), but it's got a kid's aesthetic so I don't know if you are into that or not.  It's a good game though.  I haven't played Infinite Undiscovery, so I don't know if it's better than Star Ocean or not... I have some friends who liked it and some who didn't.

Blue Dragon is awesome! The music is fantastic and I loved everything about it. Yes, at times it's overly kid friendly, but in general it's is so excellent. Trying to find the Platinum Poo Snake and flying in my Metcat all over the map are some of my favorite moments. My friend Mark and I played the whole game in tandem a while back. It's a long game too. I put 90 hours into it.

We used to visit family in Alabama nearly every 4th of July, and since most of them live out in the country, we could buy and shoot fireworks pretty easily there.  We had a lot of fun.  Be safe and careful when you shoot off your fireworks!

Wow that sounds like fun! Hopefully you buy some pretty good fireworks. Safe ones of course!
