My wife uploaded a bunch of pictures to Facebook.  Thankfully there is a way to get access to just that album, so I have attached the link below.

We spent most of our time walking the streets in and around Tokyo.  We did get a couple day trips  out to Mt Oyama, Mt. Fuji and Nikko National Park.  Hope you enjoy a small taste of Japan.  Oh, right.  The people in the pictures are my eldest sister, my wife and myself.

Those dumplings from the Chinese resturant look delicious!  Do you remember what kind they were?

Whatever the standard fried dumpling that you can get aroudn here.  we also had some that were filled with some sort of chicken stock or something.  It was a lot of good food.  The noodle dish and soup that they made with the rest of the duck was nothing to right home about, that picture didn't make it into the album...  i think it is on my phone.

My favorite thing is the fact you went to a Chinese restaurant in Japan. lol

Awesome pictures. I am jealous. And maybe a little envious as well.

My sister has been over there for about a year and a half at this point.  She is as much of a food snob as I am, so she only took us to the best of places.

Also, this trip was really expensive...  and we lucked out and were able to save a bunch on lodging because my sister is currently living over there.

Food snob, eh? I like Little Caesar's more than I like "you people," and I want you to know that and hold that deep within your soul.

That's great about the lodging though. I was graciously saved in that dept. on my L.A. trip as well, thanks to the professor's son.

Neato! One day I'll travel somewhere too. I'm thinking Acadia National Park in Maine. Not exactly an epic William Lithgow trip around the globe (I'm reading The Rare Adventures and Painful Peregrinations of Wiliam Lithogow right now) , but someplace I really want to see.

I was expecting the photos and I was not dissapointed. Really awesome you've been there, Japan is a place i'd be interested in visiting, if only the please the small anime fan in me (yes, I know there's more to Japan :P).

You're a beautiful coulple,Transmet. I found the picture of your wife sitting in the cramped model train to be very amusing somehow. lol. "Giantess attacks Tokyo!"

If I am not mistaken, the picture that you are referring to is actually something that samurai would be carried around in.  That one was a replicate, but there was an authentic one elsewhere in the museum that was for female passengers.

I thought it was something that Japanese business men slept in when travelling or so Seinfeld led me to believe. :D

Ah, that Japanese wedding (i think that's what is going on) is so romantic.  I like those outfits.

I don't actually know, but we did think that it was some sort of a wedding thing.  It was pretty cool seeing people dressed up in the old garb...

Great pics Philip. Including food and beer so you have your priorities right. :)

That is what happens when you come from a land flowing with beer, Milwaukee, and just so happened to go to school for cooking.

Well, growing up in England is where I get the beer part from and er, well that doesn't really explain my love for gastronomy. Suffice it to say that I do love beer and food of all kinds. :)

Very cool! I always think of big cities like Tokyo when I think of Japan. Looks like it has some beautiful countryside though.

I wouldn't mind going to Japan one of these days; just to see the country side, not just the cities.
