Well Happy July 4th Pixlbit. For you outside of the USA, celebrate anyways, it’s more fun that way. Eat something fried, topped with bacon, and play with fireworks. It is a hot and humid 101 degrees here in SoCal with some big clouds coming in. I don’t know if there might be rain, but I’m currently camped out inside with Mr. Air Conditioning. I was going to hit the mall but I got lazy so that’ll happen tomorrow. Since this is Friday it’s another edition of Quick Hits with Chris. So you good people sit back, click on a song and let’s celebrate!
Step 1. Pick Your Song
Lee Greenwood was the big ending song when I worked at Disneyland for their huge July 4th Fireworks show
James Brown. C’mon now, how do you not like this song?
Remember when Miley didn’t look like Bieber?
The Red, White, and Blue Super Bowl with Whitney Houston
Step 2. Let’s start reading/looking at pictures/singing at the top of your lungs to Lee Greenwood

USA vs Belgium
Tuesday USMNT took on Belgium and I was out and about
That’s me!
I was roaming around the car wash; I got a couple of “Go USA’s” and a “Good Luck” which was cool. Because I was roaming around I brought the 3DS XL to add some folks to the Mii Plaza and earn some coins.
That’s me again!
I spent around 10-15 minutes filling out a crossword while waiting for the car. Later on that day I realized I met a couple of folks through Streetpass and received another puzzle for Crosswords Plus
Oh Nintendo…
As for the game Tim Freaking Howard! Love the memes and how the Secretary of Defense Wiki was changed.
Injustice Soundtrack
While roaming around I listened to this soundtrack
I thought it would be some instrumental stuff but it wasn’t. It was a bunch of bands I’ve never heard of, and Jane’s Addiction. The soundtrack wasn’t that good, but it was a freebie that came with the Vita game.
Kawhi-mania
Out of the blue I received an e-mail from SDSU Alumni that was kind of funny. It had my name, mentions the year I graduated, with my degree (Props to the poor intern who had to type all of this out) and then the main reason of the email: money. The Alumni Association wanted to see me a lifetime membership and with this membership I get the following
Yup a copy of the Sports Illustrated and the MVP shirt.
I was trying out random runner games and decided to try out NBA Rush. It’s the same as the other runner games but guess which player I used 99% of the time
Too bad the game doesn’t go Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City where you toss basketballs at the bad guys
Instead of throwing basketballs you “dunk” on the bad guys. By dunk I mean you jump on the bad guys. Yeah we shall see how long this stays on my iPad.
Club Nintendo
So the year ended and I got sent back to the bottom of the status totem pole. Since I did hit Platinum I got this screen
I also decided to add the Club Nintendo points I’ve been saving so I can start on hitting Platinum again and I’m almost at Gold
I’ll probably hit Gold when I finally get around to buying another Mario game, and a Mario Kart game.
Watching
I’m still on my usual cooking shows but I also threw in a new Reality Show (it’s taking up the Challenge Spot)
I rarely watch Big Brother because it is so freaking slow. A bunch of people in their alliances, trying to scheme all while participating in events that make Double Dare look Big Budget. The only positive is usually the events that happen on the live feeds ($10 a month or $20 for the season pass), where you hope someone runs around naked. There is also Big Brother After Dark where you see just how boring life is in the Big Brother house. The main reason to watch After Dark is to hear “The Voice” that reminds the house guests to wear their microphones, not to talk about production, or to tell them to go to the interview room.
So why am I watching? No idea, but somehow I got caught up in the storyline revolving around the big alliance named “The Bomb Squad” (apparently Cool Kids, The Avengers, and any other team names kids pick for their friends didn’t make the cut) is trying to take out the other players. The other sub storyline is how one guy is stalking this girl Amber. It’s watching a guy who hasn’t realized he’s in the Friendzone.
Buys (Usually Pickups but this fit for the theme)
I saw this at Target. Apparently my local Target now sells random French games. If it was in English I would have bought it
A couple of things from Toys R Us’ crazy clearance sale
$2 headset for my 3DS. I haven’t tried them out for an actual game but I’ll give it a go later on today.
I’ve been waiting for this to drop, and for $10 I now have a new iPad case
I can actually fit my Nexus 7 and iPad in it which is cool. I also found that under the Darth Vader flap there is an elastic band so I can securely close it.
Final pickup was a physical copy of this game
I have the digital game form PS+, but I do like the physical copies. I actually went into my GameStop to renew my Rewards card, spotted this and I figured might as well. The awesome employee found that I earned enough points form my card to get a free renewal. It was awesome, and even better is that she also said I had enough points to take $5 off the game price. So the $15 I was going to spend in the store for my renewal card I got a game and my Rewards card. I made sure to relay this story to the GameStop folks during the survey.
Alright Pixlbit I want to go spend my 4th either taking a nap or doing something productive like taking a Power Nap.
That’s all for now, more later!
