Best Birthday Present Ever...

So. It was my birthday on Wednesday, and I got the best birthday present ever: An eviction notice from college. I'm $2500 and have no way to pay it, so I guess I'm leaving. Going back home where I have no internet and no room for myself. So I guess I'm sleeping on the couch for the next 8 months while I try and save to get back into college. I could move in with friends, but then I wouldn't be able to save up as much money.

You see, we got a new dean, and on top of that, the college I stay at now costs an extra 200 bucks a month. Because of that, I've run out of funds prematurely. So yeah, I'm moving out on Sunday. That will be fun. I can't wait to move back into a house that's full and has no room for me. I can't wait to have to rely on my phone's 1GB a month of data for internet. I can't wait to go back home to a place where most of my friends from there have moved to college and thus I won't see them for most of it. These next 8 months are going to be fucking fantastic.

The biggest issue I have with colleges is the tuition cost, especially when they can apparently raise it without much warning.

I'm really sorry,Blake. I hope you can save enough money to go back or at least find a situation where you can live comfortably again. I will not lie,it's probably going to be rough. But I do have faith you are strong enough to survive the storm!

I went through a similar unpleasant journey (Related to college and having to return home prematurely because of a bad ankle injury) but hey,I'm still alive to tell the tale! Wink

Yeah. I mean realistically, it's 290 a week, which is actually quite good, since we get one free meal every day, and don't have to worry about water or electricity. But when you don't have a full time job that becomes quite difficult.

That fucking blows. Sorry to hear that. Let's both move to a country with reasonable tuition.

Actually I think Scandanavian countries have both reasonable tuition and housing. Too bad I doubt I'll move there any time soon.

Thanks. Yeah, if I can save 500 a week, I'll save 16000 before I go back.. If I can save 600 a week it's 19200 so I should be able to bounce back.

Wow, that sucks. Best of luck of figuring out the best solution. I guess if you're expecting the worst, it can only get better...?

Youre going to be alright brother.

8 months is a drop in the bucket when you have the rest of your life ahead of you.

Sorry man, being broke sucks. Keep fighting, save up the next 8 months. It'll suck at first but keep fighting and get back into school!
