Play Half-Life 2, Get Dizzy.

I like playing Half-Life 2, the story and characters are interesting; the game's pacing is well done. However there is one thing that kind of bothers me about the game; well, has it since it ends on cliffhanger with no realing ending in sight for the past 7 years. Any who, that's not the focus of this blog; its how the game kind of handles or flows in motion. For whatever reason, its leaves my eyes sore after a while and then the dizziness sets in. I'm fine playing other FPS games but for I don't last long playing Half-Life 2, especially in the darker, more enclosed levels. Half-Life 2 isn't the first game to strain my eyes and give me vertigo. Turok: The Dinosaur Hunter for the N64 gave me the worst vertigo in my life; I spent the whole day in bed because I head kept on spinning. Condemned was interesting first person horror game for the Xbox 360 that I just couldn't play because of how enclosed and dark all the levels were. There are some 3rd person games that get me, but I can't think of any at the moment. Are there any games that give you motion sickness?

Borderlands 2 does that to me.

Borderlands 2 is one of those games I could play for hours too. Its interesting to see how some people react to certain motions in games.

I'm not the only one...I think I recall Chris writing about getting motion sick from Borderlands 2.

I get more motion sickness when I'm watching someone playing something that's first person, like when I watched my brother play shooters or Elder Scrolls games.

I don't know that I've ever gotten motion sickness from a game, but my eyes do hurt after staring at screens for too long.

Today I got a little dizzy playing LEGO The Hobbit. When you move into a tight area, the camera gets all scrunched up behind your head and wobbles like crazy when you move.

In the past, the only game that gave me motion sickness was Locoroco on the PSP. I was playing it in the passenger seat of a car, and I nearly had to roll the window down to throw up.

I would get terrible nausea and feel dizzy from HL2. The fix that helped tremendously was to set Field of Vision to 90 (Options -> Video -> Advanced). I couldn't believe the difference.
