Hitman Absolution + No Online Pass = EPIC WIN!

I hope to finish this list on 1up.com before they finally pull the plug. So far this might be possible given the release schedules of the choice games selected for this “Online Pass Watch” list. With that said though I need to get on the ball. I’ve gotten behind on my list of games that better not have Online Pass.  This is mostly due to my current plans in revamping my older game system set ups in the event if the next generation of gaming does not appeal to me. But if you go by my list of games I’m interested in, the majority of them fall in favor of not having an Online Pass system. It looks like Hitman Absolution will continue that trend for it too is Online Pass Free!

The only thing that had me worried that this game would take the route of Online Pass was the offerings that were being given for the game’s preorder. In hindsight I should’ve researched this sniper mini game more. The premise did seem worrisome at the time. Preorder Hitman Absolution and gain access to a sniper mode mini-game to complete with others all around the world. Even now I don’t know if it was a PC exclusive mini game or it’s been offered for download on gaming consoles. You could say I wasn’t interested in such merger scrapes but instead I wanted nothing more than the full course meal in putting myself in the role of Agent 47 (one of my many heroes) once again.

The Hitman series has been an odd duck of likings to my gaming interests. Normally I’m not one for stealth, discrete killing when I feel the urge to release some pent-up frustrations. Instead I’m usually playing the usual FPS affair that one expects on consoles these days (don’t judge me, I happen to like “spunk gargle weewee”  killing sprees  and that doesn’t make me low brow to boot!) and not the stealth type kill game mechanics you’d find in metal gear solid or splinter cell franchises.

I’d have to say I enjoyed the hitman series because of the series protagonist, Agent 47. I enjoyed his character (of what we saw of him) and his place in the series that finds him performing all sorts of work with an assortment of tools that would make me reconsider a career change.

I even enjoyed the MOVIE of this game. That should tell you something about my mindset for this series.

In the end I’m looking forward to trying out Absolution when the time comes. Even if they got the “indiscrete nonchalant-act normal” animation all wrong, I’m still looking forward in walking thru crowds of people while I’m quietly stalking my latest prey.  Too bad I can’t say the same for the Assassin’s Creed series. As much as I’m sure I might like that series as well, the addition of Online Pass to that series has soured my interest in trying it out.

Assassin’s Creed’s  loss is Hitman: Absolutions gain I guess.

It's a great start. I'm still debating on getting that collection or go the cheaper route and buy the games used to play on my PS2/PS3 system setups. I guess I need to see what all consists of the collection. Hopefully it won't be incomplete like the Silent Hill HD collection

Actually, according to Jeremy Parish's Twitter, Ziff Davis plans to keep the servers at 1up running indefinitely, so you will probably have time to complete the series. lol

thanks for the heads up! I heard word of it but never knew it came from Jeremy Parish's twitter feed. it's my fault for not following him sooner and thinking it came from an article writing. If that's the case I wonder what will become of 1up.com given most have decamped.
