Messing Around with Source Filmmaker

One of the things that I like about Garry's Mod was ability to take videogame characters and pose them for art references. The only thing that kept me from doing so was posing characters in Garry's Mod was hard due to cumbersome controls and annoying ragdoll physics. It was kind of exhausting trying to pose characters, especially when they weren't rigged properly. Plus you had to pay for Garry's Mod; while Source Filmmaker which is still in Beta is free. Which is one of the reason why I switched over to SFM, plus I don't have to worry about ragdoll physics. Using SFM for the first is quite perplexing; I didn't know how to control the camera or move models around. However there are several tutorials on Youtube and after watch a few them; posing characters became second nature.

Since the SFM community is mostly user generated content, finding certain models is difficult. Somes time you have to start downloading programs inorder to convert gma.files from Garry's Model to bsp. which Source Filmmaker can use. The Vergil model was from Garry's Mod workshop, I can't pose his coat the way I would like so it clips through his right leg.

I liked Sherry from Resident Evil 6, I have thing for girls with short blonde hair.

Mona Sax from her Max Payne 3 which she appeared as downloadable multiplayer character.

I was quite devastated by the Bioshock Infinite's Burial At Sea DLC; so I decided to have most the inter-dimensional Elizabeths to get together and start a band. A PUNK BAND. FUCK THE PROPHET!!!! OYE!

My favorite siren, hopefully somebody will port a the firehawk version of Lilith from Borderlands 2.

Now that I somewhat familiar with posing, I'm not sure if I want to start animating. Just today I finally got another camp job starting next week and I don't know if have enough time for animating. Ten years ago, I use to animate with Flash but that was tedious as hell with the key frames and drawing characters. It would be nice to have the know-how of porting characters into SFM.

Elizabeth is really rockin' the bass in that shot.

Choosing to put the bass-playing Elizabeth in front is the best choice. Good work!
