Puzzle games are fine my wife plays them on her iphone religiously me on the other hand not so much but after getting Tiny Token Empires on Android and on PSN it actually hooked me so after years of seeing the puzzle quest games and really not paying much attention to them, but if I would have known how good they really are I would have bought them years ago.

Puzzle Quest and Puzzle Quest 2 are two very diferent games and both are excellent rpgs but instead of your traditional turn based or hack n slash style fighting they come with a match 3,4 or five of the same color for mana, skulls for damage they really made for a eally good challenge and yes luck has alot to do with it but its still a fun as nd addicting game, Puzzle Quest is more a move city to city doing quest for people to where Puzzle Quest 2 is more of a traditional rpg where you do puzzles to open doors getting loot etc, but there both very different but very good games, and if your unsure of whether or not you will like them they have demos for both and I strongly advise checking them out before purchasing them and there available for the ps3, xbox 360 or your android or iphone.

Puzzle Quest" can best be described as "Bejeweled" meets "Dungeons and Dragons."

For those who haven't played the former, it's a "Tetris"-style game where you match up horizontal or vertical rows of jewels of matching color by swapping places with one of their adjoining neighbors.

The catch here is that the game is tied into to a large fantasy-styled world, with lots of rpg trappings.

Puzzle Quest is a huge game with plenty to keep you busy for a while.

After choosing what sort of character you'd like to play (druid, knight, etc.), you set off on a quest to save the kingdom from nefarious orcs, zombies, trolls and other nasty creatures.

The only thing is that instead of bopping them on the head with your weapon, you're matching up colored stones and other objects. Matching up three skulls, for example, deals damage to your opponent. Get their life down to zero and the battle is yours.

But hold on. Combining different colored stones increases your "mana levels," which in turn lets you cast devastating spells. And you can also increase your experience levels and bank account this way.

Puzzle Quest 2 introduces tons of new puzzle styles, including opening doors, lockpicking, looting chests, and a plethora of the tried and true battles. The mix keeps things interesting, as you’re no longer just going from battle to battle while taking occasional breaks to capture enemies, learn spells, and forge weapons.

+ As far as battles go, even the timbre of combat is different given that they have turned purple stars into purple mana and they’ve removed in-battle gold matches in favor of black gauntlets that award the brand new action points. Mechanically, this maintains the balance of how many different types of pieces are out there, but now every piece on the board feels like it affects combat. No longer are you ever faced with the choice of matching experience or gold instead of gaining mana or dealing damage; every move has the potential to directly affect the outcome of battle. It sounds like a small change, but in practice it’s quite large.

+ Equipment has been revamped such that weapons are actually useable, rather than passive modifiers of other aspects of combat. You can now use the aforementioned action points to, for instance, swing your axe to deal direct damage or use a potion to gain some yellow mana. This makes for a myriad of new equipment choices when decking out your character.

I like puzzle games, but I had a hard time getting into Puzzle Quest.  You might like Puzzle and Dragon, or Monster Match, or even Pac-Man Monsters if you like Puzzle Quest, though.  My 3 favorite puzzle games are Tetris, Puzzle Bobble, and Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo.

PQ Challenge Of The Warlords is still one of my favorite games of all time.  The highly addictive match-3 gameplay infused with RPG elements was synonymous with me losing hours of my life staring at the computer monitor...and then also at the DS Lite I had back in 2008

My friend has been playing Puzzle Quest on his 360 while I was playing Witch and the Hundred Knight on my PS3 last few weeks.

I love Puzzle Quest CotW. I came just short of beating it. It gets hard near the end. But I would play it over again any time. PQ2 just fell flat for me. Plus I got stuck in one area unable to progress. I forget exactly why. I liked PQ Galactrix much better, but I never got to the very end of that either. I'm still waiting for a true sequel to PQCotW. I like the 2D graphics and the emphasis on the match-three battle system for every mechanic in the first game.

There was Puzzle Chronicles and Puzzle Kingdoms out there, but neither are as deep and satisfying as PQCotW.

I had a couple of Puzzle Quest games on the 360, and my Nexus 7. The one I played a good amount of is the Marvel branded Puzzle Quest but I haven't played it in a good 3-4 months. I should get back into them, they are a lot of fun
