Happy Monday Pixlbit! It is a nice 86 currently (it’ll jump later on) and I have a bit of free time, its time to keep you good people updated on what I have been playing, but first I saw that Twitter and some folks here are talking about Destiny. For you folks who are in the Beta, congrats! As for myself there’s nothing fancy going on here just some things I’ve spent time playing
Cruis’n – Wii
After finding out this game is the arcade Fast and Furious, I made it my goal of playing through this game. It really didn’t take a lot of time, maybe three hours, but it was a lot of fun. The game itself looks like a cleaned up N64 game, which really isn’t bad. There are real people in the game (a handful of people cheering in the beginning and in the end, as well as a lady in a bikini). This game reminds me a lot of the Hooters Racing game on the Playstation meets your typical Cruisin’ game.
What I like about this game is that you can constantly upgrade your vehicle if you place within the top 3 in a race. I think it’ll take one and a half games to fully max out a car. I have a goal of maxing out all the cars in the game. I don’t know if I will do it, but I know by going after this goal, I will be able to unlock all cars. Currently I am at 1.5 million total earnings, and every 250k, you unlock a new car, with the last one being at 2 million.
Cruis’n is easily worth the couple of bucks I paid for it. There’s nothing fancy here, but I did have fun racing through stages like “Race Wars” (oh you Fast and Furious fans will understand this), “LA Ghetto”, and various parts of Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Super Mario Galaxy – Wii
So when I started this game it was a bit odd to play a Mario game like this but after a couple of minutes it felt comfortable using the Wiimote and the nunchuck. I haven’t gotten far in the game, I just wanted to make sure it worked before putting some major time into it.
While playing an early level I got a laugh out of this screen because I have no choice in the conversation. I might as well have been given an Ok button.
New Super Mario Bros. – Wii
I finished off World 1, and started World 2, but I went back to World 1 to rescue that mushroom looking guy. Apparently he’s trapped in a box
Snuck in some No Doubt on a Monday Morning
I’m taking my time with this game just like 3D Land on the 3DS until I go crazy and binge play it a month from now.
Mario Kart – Wii
I haven’t done much in this game. I took down two cups in the 50cc races, and unlock the Star Cup. This is scratching the Mario Kart need I’ve had since I saw the commercials for the new one on the Wii U. Another Mario game where I’m taking it slow, until I binge on it in a couple of months.
MLB 14 The Show – PS3
I’m closing to finishing my second full season in the majors with only a handful of games left until the start of the playoffs and the Dodgers are about to win the West. The big news is that the team traded for Dustin Pedroia, and called up a 3rd Baseman that used to protect me in the lineup in AAA Albuquerque. Defensively the infield is like a fortress, and if the team keeps this up, I might sign an extension with the Dodgers.
Lego The Hobbit – PS Vita
Normally I don’t care for This storyline, but I do like Lego so I am currently giving this game a shot, and I have to say, I’m really digging it. This game follows Lego Marvel and creating a different game that isn’t a dumb down version of the console game. Instead of the usual console stuff, this one has a set of 10 goals to unlock gold bricks and is a ¾ view action game where you run around fight the bad guys, and switch characters to fit certain needs. There is more emphasis on touch controls like making circles on the screen to turn things, and swiping to interact with objects. I still use the buttons but I do like using the circles to turn items. I’ve had this game for maybe a day or two, and I am almost at the halfway point of the Story Mode. I am definitely a fan of this game!
Real Racing 3 – Android
I have played a couple of races because I caught the racing bug from Mario Kart and Cruis’n so I went back and updated this game
There is now a Ferrari Mode, which should be a lot of fun. I liked the Porsche series, and this one should be similar. Since the Ferrari Mode is new I went on and purchased a new car in the game
Yup, practical, good gas millage, lots of leg room, and leather seats. Just like a Ferrari
Sonic Jump Fever – Android
So I’ve been playing this game off and on since I downloaded it, and it takes a twist on the Sonic games…like not having Sonic be your default character. C’mon Sega, 30 red rings to unlock the only character 99.999% of your audience want to use? Anyways if you haven’t played this game, your goal within this game is to jump straight up, freeing little critters on floating platforms, taking out the bad guy, collecting items, and trying to get as far as possible before the time limit hits zero. When this happens, your character is pushed to the end of the level where you fling those rescued critters into a basket (this part I find hilarious) and they become bonus points.
I spent .99 cents to remove the ads, which also gave me a handful or red rings and gold rings. The red rings I spent for this guy
I would have gladly spent $2 if I could play this game without having to use the energy bars (the feature in all freebie games that slow down your game playing and progress) as well as ads, and reminders about getting freebie red rings if I sign up to Facebook.
Angry Birds Epic – Android
You know I’m not big on RPGs, but this one is simple…drag your bird to the pig and let him do his thing. There is no freebie slow down feature because I played a few levels before waiting for something like it to kick in, but it never happened.
You rescue various birds with their own powers, and they get added to your party. Can’t go wrong with this freebie game. I haven’t checked the items you can purchase…like the $50 racecar in Angry Birds Go.
Need For Speed Shift 2 – iPad
Another racing game, and I think I just finished the D Class of races. I’m getting to like the in car view, because I can’t seem to get it to switch to outside of the car. No biggie, but I do wish I was able to save my progress in my previous game because I was close to being halfway finished.
Ridge Racer – iPad Air
The one thing I wish that changed in this game is that I am able to touch anywhere on the screen to activate Nitrous. I hold the iPad like a steering wheel and I have to look at the bottom of the screen to make sure I’m hitting the nitrous button. This is the one annoying thing I’ve hit.
The racing itself is basically any Ridge Racer on the console/handhelds. I’m comfortable with the tracks, but I just need a race to remember that the drifting needs a little more work than the consoles.
Simpsons Tapped Out – iPad Air
Since this is a dull point in the game, Origin created a sale of stuff everything people missed. I have all but one thing which was offered to me and that was
She matches Mayan Homer and I think this was released to poke fun at the whole World is ending because the Mayans said so. It cost 40 donuts, and I can only imagine what the other items like the Mount Carl, or Springfield Sign might cost.
Ok good folks, it’s time we end our conversation here. Today it’s designing labels. Ooh fun! I’m sounding like a broken record, but I am going through the blogs that you good folks have written. I’m two weeks behind, but I’m reading and making comments!
That’s all for now, more later!

Sounds like Sonic's jumped on the Doodle Jump bandwagon. Can you play as Tails? That's who I'd play as.
If you like that and Doodle Jump, you should try Pac N Jump. It's a Namco themed version of the same kind of game.
I like Ridge Racer, but I don't know if I could do it on an iPad. They should make a Ridge Racer Jump. :) I don't know how that would work, though.

Yup, you start with Tails. Kinda funny considering the character the game is named after is unlockable. I'll have to give those games a try.
Ridge Racer isn't bad on the iPad. I do wish that the Nitrous button was bigger. Ooh if Ridge Racer was top down, and you hit Nitrous to perform jumps over other vehicles, and onto other tracks. If this happens Namco better give us some royalties, or a suped up version of the game

That's cool they did some special things for the Vita version of LEGO: Hobbit. I wish it didn't lock up on my on Xbox 360. I wanted to finish it.
Angry Birds Epic is something I want to try.

I'm really digging what Lego did with this game on the handhelds. This is the approach they should have taken with previous games because it's so much fun instead of being a watered down console version.
Epic so far is a lot of fun. Speaking of, I need to get back into it.
