Hey guys, long time no talk!

Things on my end have been busy lately with my internship and all. It's been great, but busy. Still hoping to have some content for you guys coming soon in terms of reviews and previews and stuff.

Anywho, the main reason I'm posting this morning is because I've decided to enter this Ubisoft Design to win competition. In it, you sumbit a game concept and some art for a chance to win a class in game design, something that I've self studied but never studied in an official manner.

Anyway, here's my submission. Please take a look if you can, and click Like if you think it's a good idea. Constructive criticism is always good as well, so don't be afraid to let me know what you think. Thanks!

Check it out here!

Nice idea. I immediately was imagining it in a 3D world. Maybe it was that image that suggested that to me or that "mystical jungles" makes me think in 3D.

I like that backpack the male character has. A "Weh" power source?

I also like the co-op between the male and female characters - could create real bonding moments between players.

The backpack is more of a storage container for the Weh. Its what his village gave him to contain what he collects.

I was thinking of this game being more of a single player game, but its not the first time co-op has been mentioned. Idk if this particular game is the one where co op would be in, but it is an idea I've been thinking about.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback! any bit helps!

I liked it on Facebook too. This Ubisoft contest is awesome!

I'm thinking of that Two Brothers game that came out recently. There have been others too that emphasize co-op between two players, the names of which escape me at the moment; although, I can see them in my head. Seems to be a recent trend in indie games.

also as far as the 3D world thing - I don't know if i'll be able to learn how to code THAT well to be able to do that, but it is something i'd like to transition the series to one day - if i can get it made in the first place xD

If you mean Brothers, from last year, i would be lying if the psuedo co-op wasn't part of my inspiration. That said, i dont plan on tasking players with controlling both simultaneously, lol

I like the simplicity of the brains and brawn idea, and I like 2D platformers and puzzlers, so I gave you a like.

My constructive criticism really isn't the concept, but the art looks like it's very much at the "concept" stage. More people might "like" it if you provided art that popped a bit more or just finished and completely colored the current image in that link or had someone do it for you.

Yeah. Tbh, they specifically asked for concept art, so I wanted to leave a bit up to the imagination. I did work with an artist and we kinda decided to leave it a bit vague just because there are a lot of elements that aren't final. I get what you're saying though, lol

It seems like a very low key fantasy, but that's fine because it can be done very well.

I haven't played Brothers, but i've seen the camera angles that the game uses and I think that would fit the game.

Going to give it a like then.

Thanks man. While Brothers is an inspiration for this, I don't think it will be very similar to it aside  from there being two different characters working together. Most likely i'd end up dividing playablity up by chapter, or maybe even a switch on the fly option. Anyway, thanks for the support.

Hey guys, dunno if you can see this. Voting is getting close! I'm doing well, but if you're seeing this and you haven't voted - please do. Thanks!
