Tomb Raider Collector's Edition!

I'm not gonna talk about the game anymore. You can check out the review I wrote yesterday if you're looking for more info about that. This is solely dedicated to the collector's bundle I just acquired for the game, AKA the "Survival Kit". I got the Xbox version of this bundle just so I could also have an excuse to pick up the limited edition Xbox 360 controller. I struck a pretty good deal with these, but for retail purposes the collector's edition runs at $99.99 and the wireless controller comes in at $59.99.
The box containing everything is your standard metal fare, with the words "Survival Kit" emblazoned on the front, along with two logos on the sides depicting the name of Lara and company's ill fated ship, the Endurance, and two pickaxe icons.
The collector's edition includes a Lara Croft figurine that's about 9 inches long. Or is it 8? Something like that. It comes with three different hands for Lara for some reason, in addition to an axe, a shotgun, a handgun, and a bow and arrow. The different hands and ball joints in her arms enable you to manipulate her into different positions so she can strike a pose with any of the weapons provided. I'm not really big on play arts trinkets and figurines, but it's a really nice recreation of Lara, and I imagine it being a nice addition to any collector's shelves.
There's this pretty nice lithograph of Lara, which was originally designed by the senior art director and concept artist over at Crystal Dynamics. It's only 5x7, but it's a beautful piece of artwork.
The most useless part of this collection would have to be the three iron-on badges, depicting icons that correspond to Lara's skill trees: Animal Instincts, Fire Arrow, and Climbing Axe. I don't really see a purpose in these, I'll probably end up selling them.
There's also some DLC in the form of the "Weapons Pack". Only thing is, the weapons these unlock can't be used in the single player game. Unless I'm doing something wrong. And if you haven't heard already, the multiplayer in this game is a little....underwhelming. So if you don't play it, you'll never get to use these weapons. Not that you're missing much of anything. They're just weapons that Agent 47 used in Hitman: Absolution. So if you're like me, you won't care.
This also comes with a 10 tune soundtrack, with over 60 minutes of music from the game. Since the music in this game is great, it's a definite plus.
The double sided poster actually serves a purpose as well, since it marks all the key landmarks in the game and on the other side, there's a blown up image of the game's box art.
There's also a beautiful art book and a very small "Survival Pouch", and that's about it.
Anyway, the overall presentation of the collection is good, but I wouldn't say its worth the steep price of entry. The highlights for me were the artbook, lithograph, and soundtrack, but all those things can be acquired singularly with enough diligence. I'm definitely keeping the controller though. That's awesome.
