After my last foray (last one for a long while) into the Arkham Universe, I decided I'd play Persona 4. It's shaping up to be really, really fun. I've saved Kanji ahead of schedule...the whole inner-gay thing was interesting to watch pan out. I've been splitting my spare time hanging out with friends and increasing the various social links.
That last battle with Kanji was brutal for me, and I'm playing on Beginner settings. This is definitely a game that I'll be playing more than once. However, I can't help but feel perhaps I'm going about things the wrong way...maybe I need to spend some time grinding levels so I can fuse higher-level Personas?
I'd like the community's input.
Get your social links up as high as you can go with anyone you can as well as your academics. That will help with your fusions. I wound up dating 4 differents girls my second playthrough. It was a real comedy. :)
A lot of it is trial and error at first, but that's half the fun so I'm not going to tell you much. LOL
Balance is the key.
Damn I want to play this game again now.
Do the social link ranks carry over to NG+?
I don't think your social link levels carry over. I didn't actually play my second playthrough as a NG+, I started fresh so I could do stuff differently and see what happened.
Yes they do Darth and you can grind but you have to raise your social links to fuse strong personas you can still fuse them but cant use them till your social link is high and try to use personas with multiple types like bufu for elecric and migawi for earth etc so when you fight especially tough bosses you can get a critical and fight all out.
Beware of fusing. It can be additive. It's like pokemon, "Gotta catch them all". 
I always spend hours doing it.
I'm decided to play Persona 3 a few days ago. I last beat it a couple of years ago. I played through the game about half a dozen times. I may start P4 after I finish P3.
I have P3 FES from PSN and P3P for the PSP. I never beat either version and actually stopped playing fairly early in the game, having been distracted by some other nameless release I can' remember. I want to play it all the way through though....such a good game
I have Persona 3 (PS2), Persona 3 FES (PS2), P3P (PSP), and P3 FES (PSN). I beat P3 FES (PS2) and P3P (PSP) several times. This is my first time playing the PSN version. I actually like Persona 3 more than Persona 4. I would like to play Persona 4 Golden. I have the game, but I don't own a Vita.

inner gay thing? I'm almost too afarid to ask. Perhaps it was a good thing that I did't get the Persona PSP games that were on sale on PSN last week.
one of the characters is conflicted about his feelings towards either sex. it's funny to watch it all pan out.
