Recently picked up a few games within the last month or so:

Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4)

I have heard a lot of good things about this game. This drought of next-gen titles makes anything released for PS4/XBO is played probably more than they would have otherwise. I think that’s good in the way that I probably would have never looked at this game otherwise. Popped it in and was trying it out, seems like it will be a lot of fun.

Final Fantasy Anthology (PS1)

This was a random purchase. I noticed that Amazon had marked this way down for clearance and I was looking for a copy of this forever, so I bit on it. I have never played Final Fantasy V or VI, so looking forward to finally sitting down and doing so. I now own all the Final Fantasy games on a Playstation system (that aren’t an MMO).

The Last of Us Remastered (PS4)

The Last of Us was easily one of my favorite PS3 games. I was hoping with the release of the Remastered  version that Sony  would offer that $10 upgrade option, but it seems as though that is not a promotion anymore..too bad. Gamestop had a special though if you turned in the PS3 version of TLOU, you could get the PS4 version for $25. I traded in another older game and ended up paying $18 for TLOU: Remastered. Not bad at all considering I paid $25 for the PS3 version of TLOU, new. I will definitely be playing this again soon, such an awesome game Smile

One kind of cool experience at GameStop was that the clerk pulled out my games I was trading in and was complimenting on how extremely good condition my games were in. She said it was refreshing to see someone who actually cared about their stuff, lol.

Conclusion

So that’s what I have been buying, I think Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls (PS4) is next on my radar for buying, I never purchased it and I want to play it badly. I know Destiny is coming, but I wasn’t too impressed with the Beta. Destiny, IMO, is basically Borderlands and I enjoy Borderlands story/comedy/gameplay/loot more. I am taking a wait and see approach with Destiny.

Also, football season is almost upon us. My Sundays will be all football when it comes, I cannot wait! Already queuing up my fantasy football leagues. I love football.

I started a Tumblr to back up my blogs, check it out if you like:

What interests me about the new Wolfenstein is the setting. I always liked alternative history and what would happen if certain events afected history, especialy with one of the more scarier ones: What would happen if the Nazis succeded in WW2.

I like the gameplay and nostalgia factor of Wolfenstein. It reminds me of my younger gaming days.

Bought Final Fantasy Anthology (PS) years ago and still hadn't played it.

I sure hope I play it, lol. If not, I have a good PS1 collection going that I am happy to add to it.

I too purchased FF Anthology some years ago and never played it.  I decided to get it once it got re-released for $20 which was a steal at the time considering that the original anthology ran for $70+.  I'm waiting for the right time to crack the anthology open.

The PS1 version of FFVI isn't the best way to play it (load times, etc.) but anything is better than nothing. That game is so good!

Still need to play The Last of Us but at this point I figure I might as well wait till I get a PS4 and play it on that, though the PS3 version will probably be super cheap now...

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the PS3 version, I recommend either one. I just prefer to play it again on PS4 Smile

I heard that the fighting is much smoother on the PS4 version of Last of Us. Higher frame rate I suppose is the reason.

I love games like Wolfenstein between heavy time investment games. Nice break.

I should start looking at Amazon for filling holes in my gaming library. I'll try The Last of Us at some point...probably when the PS3 version drops in price.

I am doing the same, filling holes in the PS3 collection. Just bought Orange Box and Portal 2 recently because I had a sudden urge to have the Valve games.
