How's it going PB? It has been a while since I coughed up a real blog. So first things first, the Destiny beta was a blast. I only wish I would have had more time to play. I managed to max out a Hunter and a Titan and get a Warlock to lv6. The Hunter is by far my favorite, the Warlock my least favorite. The Hunter is all about speed and agility with a focus on long to mid range critical hit damage. Once you hit lv 15 you can switch to the Bladedancer subclass which turns the Hunter from an agile Gunslinger into an agile ninja that can deal serious melee damage. The Titan is the slower but much heavely armored class for close range in you face fighting. The alternate build for the Titan at lv 15 turns the class into a super tank, able to generate shields and eat bullets. The comparision to Borderlands is greatly overstated but it was deffinately an inspiration for the loot and abilty skills concepts. Random gear drops of varying rarity. White grade are total generics, green grade will have passive abilties and bonuses that can be unlocked. Blue grade have even better stats and perks with purple grade being the rarest. These are called Exotics. But so far it seemed like most weapons fell into a handful of catagories so I'm hoping for a little more variety in the final build. Overall I really liked what I played. Is it revolutionary? I don't know. Is it fun and addictive as hell? Absolutlely.
I have two passions in life that out rank video games, those being music and art, in that order. I am a music nut and not alone in that regard in this community from what I have seen. So if you know of Cibo Matto then you know they have not made an album in almost 14 years. That is until two months ago when they released Hotel Valentine. This is one of the most progressive, inventive and enjoyable albums I have ever heard. Of course I am probably being a bit bias because I have been I fan since 96 when their first album came out. But I highly recomend checking it out (YOUTUBE IT!) you won't be disappointed.
And yes I gotta give Props to Gardians of the Galaxy. I knew this movie was going to be awesome and it did not disappoint. I am not saying anything about it but that. But I will say if you did not grow up in the 80's, you might not get the easteregg. The Marvel movi-verse is heading for something quite epic I think.
I am official out of the Borderalnds until October.Seriously, for real, I love that game, but I am just burned out and I need to detox before the Presequel drops. I have jumped back into Skyrim and have really hit my stride. I just hit lv 35 and purchased a pretty lofty pad in Markarth. I still like the homey little cottage in Whiterun, but this new place is kind of pimp'in. I have been jumping around, exploring, and taking on side jobs so long that I kind of lost track of what I was suppose to be actually trying to accomplish. But that is what makes this game so fun, you just do what you want.
Well that's all I got, thanks for reading and maybe I'll run into some of you in Destiny next month. Gemini out!
