Yup. Watched the new Legend of Korra episode today as well. So we've got Bryan Cranston as a meth cook father of two and Henry Rollins as a wise monk leader of an anarchist terrorist group known as the Red Lotus. Yup.

How was your day?

my day's been pretty good.  Went and got a whole lot of the boy's school shopping done...watched the first episode of the new season of Hell On Wheels....watched the first episode of the first season of Black Sails.....levelling up my party in FFT:War Of The Lions...and finally unlocked all the Shaman's basic cards in Hearthstone.

Now I'm going to check out a FAQ on nice deck builds for the Shaman's basic cards.

I didn't get ANY of those references, but I'm glad you got some school stuff for the boy.

Ok, lemme break it down for you:

-Hell On Wheels is an AMC Original Series.  I watched season 4, episode 1 today

-Black Sails is a Starz Original Series.  I watched season 1 episode 1 today

-FFT: War Of The Lions is more commonly known as Final Fantasy Tactics: War Of The Lions for the Sony PSP handheld gaming system.  I've spent some time today levelling up my party, or group, if you like.

-Hearthstone is a digital CCG, or card collecting game.  There are different classes in the game, each of which draw on a pool of common cards and each of which also has a set of special cards that can be unlocked through regular play, without purchasing booster packs.  Today I was able to finally unlock the final 2 of the Shaman's 20 class-specific cards.  Would've happened sooner, but I only really play 2-3 rounds a day.

That ought to illustrate better the amount of time I've been wasting on frivolous pursuits today

Actually, I did know what Hearthstone is as I've seen the Youtuber Philly D play it on Twitch and it has commercials airing alongside Legend of Korra. My bad.

How is Hell on Wheels? Heard mixed things. I've been in the mood for a good Western atm, been watching Deadwood.

I also watched the first ep of Black Sails, looks like it has potential.

I really dig Hell On Wheels.  Then again, I've been really liking all the AMC Original stuff that's come out over the past years, like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead.

If you like Civil War-era and Post Civil War-era drama/action, Hell On Wheels won't disappoint.

How did you enjoy Breaking Bad? Personally, I think it should have ended two episodes before it did. Those last two eps were kinda eh for me.

My day's been okay. I'm super sick atm with the flu but I'm getting over it.

I like seasons 1 and 4 the most and I really don't like Walter White. I thought it ended fine but was a bit overhyped. Overall, I thought it was a really good series, though it became a bit predictable for me towards the end ... granted, the Internet did inadvertently spoil certain details for me.

Having said that, I'm looking forward to what they can do with Better Call Saul

Korra is not has likable as Ang.  She's way too hard headed and jumps into everything.  I'm hoping that will change.  I only saw the 1st season and then stopped.  I'll catch season 2 when I see it on dvd real cheap.

Last I checked, all of Season 2 is streaming online on nick.com. You may not like that one if Korra being hard-headed bothers you. It does introduce lots of cool and funny characters like Veruk and has a cool origin story for the Avatar though. Season 3 so far has been really good.

Sounds like you don't have much to say about the Breaking Bad ending? Despite all that build-up, I thought the ending kind of landed like a dud.

I'm finishing up Rurouni Kenshin right now, an old but good anime from the 90s.

I didn't think it landed like a dud, but I didn't have my mind blown either.

Breaking Bad is one show I have never got sucked into. I hear its really good, yet I won't watch. Odd.

Like you refuse to watch an episode or you just didn't like what little you've seen?

I always hear its really great, but I never wanted to watch it. I watched parts of episodes but never really sat down with it. I'll probably try watching it, like how I said I'd watch the Wire and after a couple of years I'm still one or two episodes in.

Well, at least you've seen parts of it, which is more than I can say for me and Game of Thrones, though I want to see it. I've never had the desire to watch The Wire either though.
