As for Tomb Raider, SE probably thinks they have a better chance of success if they don't compete directly with Uncharted, plus they get that MS money, and they used to get the Sony money in the past.
Bloodborne looks better then ever though!

There are many great announcements but I will get to one particular one first. It is Microsoft announcing that the next Tomb Raider game is exclusive to Xbox One. As a XB1 owner I will get and play the game but I am not happy about it. Why is that? I feel Microsoft secured the title out of laziness on their part to do more in-house development. It might be cheaper to just buy out third party titles but it also does little to help Microsoft in the long road.
My point expands to what Sony has showcased and that is games like Until Dawn and Alienation. They also have their new IPs such as Bloodborne and Order 1886. Instead of Microsoft collaborating with studios they decided to buy out a third party title that has always been multi-platform. Yes, buy out because why would Square Enix allow such a deal on a system that has half the install base of the PS4? Microsoft presense was centered around one title and that is Quantum Break that we knew about for a long time. They have Sunset Overdrive but it it seems that took the center stage for them at E3. Them saving Quantum Break for Gamescom seems smart since what else would they show if they spilled the beans at E3?
The announcements that amazed me was Day Z coming to the PS4. It is one of the few PC titles I was envious of not being able to play. I also have to say Alienation looks incredible as does Hollowpoint. There are very big titles I am stoked about is...well I knew Quantum Break is going to be awesome. I am 100% positive it will bet high expectations but these events I like surprise announcements of unheard of titles or long overdue sequels. Well games such as Wild, Alienation, and the revisioned Until Dawn look incredible. Getting something from Ninja Theory's new title Hellblade was great. The character looks cool but wish for more details.
I think the biggest thing that could have been announced is SharePlay. That could have a profounding impact on peoples' choices. It also seems ironic since it seems like something that Microsoft had once invisioned with its online only system. I remember Sony announcing this feature before the release of the PS4 so its long overdue but it seems expanded on since now you can play together in the game. Their feature before when it was first announced was the ability to help others. This feature is truly next gen for our current gen systems. It is one feature that truly sets itself a part from the XB1.
Now where is games from Sony Santa Monica, Guerilla Cambridge, and Quantum Dreams? It amazes me we didn't see any title from them yet but feel Sony satisfied me with its conference. They had some incredible unexpected IPs. I hope the rest of Gamescom is filled with more announcements from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo.
