Guys! If you read any of my blogs, you'll know that I love me some dark horror games. It don't matter what system or console, shooter, action or adventure-- I love it all. I've also been kind of bummed out the survival horror in particular has basically fallen out of fashion. So whenever I see a triple AAA game with a hint of darkness, well just count me in. I'm game! So this week has had a couple of news bites that give me hope, although I'm being cautious. Here are some example of future releases:

Bloodborne! (PS4)
I know it's not Resident Evil, but it looks so dreary!

Resident Evil 1 Remastered.
Sure I own the game on Gamecube and is still gorgeous visually, but I would love an HD remake with some enhancments. I wonder what they'll change? It's a port but I'll take it!

Silent Hills
That's right, its Silent Hill with an extra "s" at the end! Scary! This was teased as a new Silent Hill game from Kojima & Guillermo del Torro, also starring the hillbilly from Walking Dead show. I can't wait.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (PS4)
I don't know what the hell this is all about, but it's pretty dark, so RAD!

Until Dawn (PS4)
Don't know what this is? Teen slasher film the game? Looks cool! I'm in!

The Order: 1886 (PS4)
Not survival horror, but pretty dark and goth. It counts!

Evil Within

Don't forget Shinji Mikami's The Evil Within.

I hadn't seen Bloodborne yet, but it looks like fun. Also had no idea Guillermo del Toro was attached to the new Silent Hill game or that Nikola Tesla was a character in The Order 1866

Lots of dark/horror and indie/ports on this new generation of consoles. I've been noticing that more and more as of lately.

It's a trend that seems to be reviving. I think devs are tired of zombies. I want space shooters to come back in fashion too. Rogue Squadron, Star Fox, etc.

Seriously looking forward to Bloodborne, as well as being able to play the remade Resident Evil for the first time... Don't know how I feel about Silent Hills though. Kojima can't hold a consistent tone to save his life, so maybe horror isn't the best suit for him. Also, Guillermo is awesome at horror, but I don't know how he would suit Silent Hill's brand of horror.

Well, who knows how far along Silent Hills is? I don't like what Kojima did to Castlevania,  but I'm glad to see Silent Hills is being considered for a revamp.

Reedus and del Toro and Silent Hill oh my. I have to buy it, no choice.

Cautiously excited about Evil Within and very happy more consoles are getting the RE remake. The new Silenthill seems to have alot of potential too but if it's exclusively this gen I probably will not be playing it awhile.

Bloodborne looks really cool. It may get me to buy a PS4.

I think del Torro might be the single best person to give us a new Silent Hill story but will the gameplay hold up? That has always been the series' Achilles heel (combat especially). I'm definitely gonna keep an eye on that one.

Bloodborne is the only game on that list I have any interest in.  Going to wait for it to hit, then get it and the PS4 in one fell swoop.
