Life is Viewtiful

After I got off work, I went and helped a friend move into her new apartment and got paid $40 for it. Her family was very nice, most of it was small stuff, and the heaviest item, the couch, wasn't even that hard to take upstairs.

To celebrate, I went to Game X Change, where they said they were taking applications and decided to get Viewtiful Joe for $3.95. I was also eyeing Starfox Adventures and Naruto for $5.95 on Gamecube pretty intently, but in the end, having Joe in the title and being less than five bucks sold me on my ultimate purchase. I also downloaded GTA III, which I own, and Sanctum 2, which is free to play until this Sunday afternoon, on Steam. I also haven't had issues with Origins since turning anti-aliasing and shadows off, though I will say the game looks incredibly bright in certain places now.

Before all that, I watched the new episode of Legend of Korra, which I just realized is penultimate to the hour-long finale this upcoming Friday. Can. Not. Wait.

I just cooked up a pound of lean burger meat for myself, seasoning the hell out of it with Season-it-all, garlic salt and pepper, topping it with pepper jack cheese and dipping it in both normal and spicy Whataburger ketchup. Tasted awesome, and at only 160 calories and 21g of protein for every 4 ounces, that burger meat is healthy AND delicious.

And this has only been the start to my weekend. Life is viewtiful for this Joe.

I absolutely love ground beef.  Breadless burgers....delicious.  I need to find a way to get ahold of some of that ketchup...I think fast food joints get better blends than can be bought in the grocery store

Yeah, I've always preferred Whataburger ketchup to other places. I don't know what it is. You can get the stuff at H-E-B if one is near you. Sadly, the closest to me is 21 miles away and despite being there this past Tuesday it totally slipped my mind to get some.

Viewtiful Joe for only $3.95? Yeah, that's a pretty ace deal! It's also true a homecooked hamburger can end up being healthier. That and frequent trips to the grocery store stock up your pantry much quicker than trips to food joints. Unfortunately, that wisdom eluded me in college. I was so dumb with money and my personal health it was embarassing. Yell

I love fast food though. SOOOOOO MUCH.

You and me both! I still love hitting up a good burger joint I'm just a tad more frugal about it now when compared to when I was 18-25!

Yeah, I need to slow down on my spending. But then again ... burgers.

I never really like the Whataburger spicy ketchup. It just doesn't taste right for some reason. I like ketchup and I like spicy... Oh well.

Pretty good day you had there. Did you apply at Game X Change?

Not yet, just have the PDF file open to do. I'm also applying for a few other campus jobs. If I just stay with my current part-time and don't find anything else, I'll be ok, since I'm sure writing my thesis while taking two other classes will give me plenty to do, I'd just like another source of loan repayment while those things are gaining interest. lol

This all makes too much sense.

Awesome! Viewtiful Joe is one of the best games ever! Really fun and creative, you should enjoy it! And the word viewtiful pretty much describes that perfect feeling.

I got to the shark boss a loooong time ago when I rented it. My issue now is my R button on my wireless Gamecube controller not wanting to work. I guess the wired one is fine, since you don't have to point the control stick up very often and maybe I can play with the D-pad (my wired controller's joystick only allows you to move diagonally up; in other words, unless I get Link doing zig-zags, he's gonna walk veeeeeeerrrry slowly). Ugh. Wish shit would just work.

Viewtiful Joe was a great game.  It was kind of hard, though.  Viewtiful Joe got really popular back then, with sequels and spinoffs and even a cartoon show (which wasn't very good, by the way).  The company who made Viewtiful Joe went on to do Okami, which was an even better game.  Have you ever played it?

No, but I own Okamiden.

I need to continue Korra somehow. Is it on Netflix or Hulu?

nick.com. They moved all the epsiodes online now, because it was getting more views there than on television apparently.

Viewtiful Joe, what a great game. Haven't played that in years. I hope Kamiya, Joe's director, returns to 2D action games sometime. He's making Bayonetta 2 right now and Capcom owns the Viewtiful Joe franchise, so we won't see an actual third Joe, but I'd take whatever he dreams up. Hope you have fun with the game! And if you want more once you finish it, the second one is just as good.

I remember the second one coming to PS2 and not Gamecube at least at first. Did it make its way to Gamecube?

Breakfast food is just whatever food you have for breakfast, man.

Ooh good stuff with the Viewtiful Joe. I had a lot of fun with those games, and I might have used a cheat device to unlock Dante early in the 2nd game.

I really should try using lean burger meat. I do miss cheeseburgers. Heck its the one thing on this "eat healthly" mode I'm in.

My eat healthy mode has always been about just making sure I don't overdo it on calories mostly. Then I worry about protein and maybe carbs so I can work on that sweet, elusive six pack I may or may not be genetically predisposed to have. I still have delicious non-health meals all the damn time, I just likely don't eat anything else that day if I do. Like, I can go to Whataburger and get an 1100 calorie Texas Toast, but that's all I'm getting besides protein and maybe milk and eggs for the rest of that day.
