THe orange box is a great value. I remember when I bought it I was poor and I got a gift certificate to Amazon, and used it for that. It brought me so many hours of fun after that.

Hello all,
Well another weekend is here. I don’t know about anyone else, but my life has been hell for the last two weeks. It has 100% to do with work. I work in the construction industry and summer is “construction season” and it gets pretty hectic. On top of that, I am working on a project at multiple schools, elementary and high school, and with school starting this last week, it was just a clusterfu$&@ in an already stressful situation. I don’t know why, but when you get a bunch of people in one area, they do a lot of stupid stuff. Tempers ran high, yelling and nights lying awake thinking. I notice when I go through this kind of stress, I tend to go on buying sprees, lol.
I haven’t watched a movie in the theater in a while, The Hobbit: Desolution of Smaug was the last movie I have watched in theaters. Everyone I have talked to that has watched Guardians of the Galaxy tells me it was really good, some not into the comic scene at all. I feel the need to watch it. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was my childhood and the new movie does not look that good, and it has been getting some bad reviews, but I kind of want to see it.
Video game-wise, here is what I have been up to:
CURRENTLY PLAYING
Darksiders (PS3)
Still playing through this game. I am very much enjoying it still. Reminds me a lot of God of War still. I just defeated the Griever boss. The boss fights in this game are pretty good, kind of cool that each has it’s own strategy. It reminds me of the way games used to be, like the PS1 and before days of game design. I think I am maybe about halfway through this game judging by the trophies. That is another good thing about trophies, you can look at them and judge about how much longer the game is. The character design in Darksiders is also very cool, nothing but praise for this game so far.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown (PS3)
To be honest, I have been playing Darksiders a lot more than this game. I like this game, I just love the gameplay in Darksiders and it is easy to sit down and play. My XCOM team is pretty good though, I haven’t lost an operative since the beginning of the game, so now all my guys are pretty high level. I think if I did lose one in a battle, I would reset the battle, I have too much time/work invested in my characters to start from scratch again, lol.
Rouge Legacy (PC)
I bought this in the Steam Summer Sale for like $3 and just recently started playing it. The reason I started playing it was because it was recently released on PSN for PS3 and PS4. I started to play it to see if it was something I want to play. This game is HARD, really hard. The gameplay is fun and all, just everything in the castle is out to get you non-stop and I am basically running the whole time to avoid taking damage. I got to the first boss (huge eyeball) and he kicked my ass. I then discovered that you can upgrade, so I have been doing grinding runs. Fun game.
PURCHASED
Orange Box (PS3)
I got an urge to own the Valve games and play through them finally, so I bought them on my preferred platform, Playstation 3. I have heard this is a bad port, I don’t care though, I have quite a PS3 collection with some of my favorite games and adding this collection to it makes it all the better. I sat and tried all the games out, no problem with any of them. I need to finally sit and play Half Life 2 and Portal….
Portal 2 (PS3)
Continuing from above, I wanted to own this as well. I like Left 4 Dead 1&2 very much and need to sit and play through the Valve “classics”.
Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition (PS4)
I had credit from Wal-Mart for a recent return and decided to pre-order this game because I have been waiting forever for it! I was hoping it was going to come out sooner this year but now finally only a couple more days. Not to mention PS4 needs more games….
Fez (PS3/PS4) [FREE on PS+]
This game was added to the free PSN game and I never played through it, even though I am pretty sure I own it on Steam already. I think I bought for $2 in some Steam sale at some point. I prefer gaming on consoles so I jumped on this console version, especially since it’s free.
NEWS/ Gamescom
I missed most of Gamescom this last week, but what I did hear is that Resident Evil (Remake) is coming to PS3/PS4, which sounds pretty awesome because I never played it. I hope that they will put it out on disc because after Trials Fusion, I never want to buy a digital game again (cannot play the game if I am not connected to the internet, beyond retarded).
Also, Rise of the Tomb Raider was announced as a Xbox One exclusive….then later revealed that it was a timed exclusive. I was super pissed when I heard it was an exclusive. Before I start this rant, just know I have been a Playstation guy since the PS1 days; but screw Microsoft! This is why I hate them, they always feel the need to buy other franchises instead of making their own. It’s just lazy of them, let someone else do all the work. Atleast when Sony does this type of stuff, it’s before the game was announced as multiplatform. It would be like all of a sudden Sony “bought” Destiny and no Xbox owners could play it. I am still pissed about it being a timed exclusive, now I probably won’t play this game. Not out of spite, but because by the time it comes to PS4, I will be on to bigger and better things. Thanks Microsoft, you screwed me out of this game (although you really didn’t).
The games announced at Gamescom all look pretty good, I think Rime was probably the one that caught my interest the most. Mainly because of it’s art style, it reminds me a lot of Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. Looking forward to hearing more about it in the coming months.
That’s all I got today, thank you for anyone reading. Hope you enjoy your weekend!
