Oh damn do I love some intense battles!
To start, the Red Dragon wasn’t too intense. After about 100 arrows, it fell with ease and little to no challenge whatsoever. The rest of the bridge though? Yeah, it was tough. Shooting arrows while dodging crossbow bolts, it was actually quite intense, yet very testing on my patience. After I cleared the top though, I went down yonder and cleared out everything that was underneath, simply because Ostrava was stuck yet again. He’s such a whiner.
How someone as tank-ish as he is gets stuck constantly is well beyond me…
The kicker though in this level was the Tower Knight.
Naturally, I cleared the archers with little to no difficulty, but the Tower Knight himself was no joke for some reason. Sure, I could’ve taken quick some cheap pop shots from above with my bow, but that’s not how I roll. I instead opted to dodge, dip, dive, duck, and dodge around his attacks and shield bashes. I remembered this battle being much easier, but I think the necessity for a ‘clear shot’ bolstered the difficulty a bit. Seeing how tough it was to hit his head while locked on, I inevitably decided to shoot out his ankles then pierce his head with a dozen arrows when he was down.
Which brings up an interesting point in which I just recently noticed; shooting arrows doesn’t drain your stamina in Demon’s Souls! It’s rather nice considering how often I’m dodging out of the way of everything.
But that’s it! 1-2 is cleared, and I’m on to 2-1 next. I dabbled a bit in there, but very little. Actually, I wouldn’t even call it a dabble as much as a quick visit to grab some Hardstone Shards and level my bow a bit back within the Nexus.
One more thing though…
Shall we look in to speeding this playthrough up a wee bit? By my calculations, one level per week will take us over sixteen weeks to complete. Perhaps we should look into completing two ‘areas’ per week? Your call!
Oh shit, ONE more thing: any ideas on what to play next?
