awesome man, having a controller opens up a lot of games for you.  Logitech makes good controllers too, their wireless ps2 controller is my favorite of all time.  

I'm much more excited to play games now on my decidedly low-spec rig

well there's a lot of low spec indie games these days that are really good, so it's cool. 

Yeah, I really need another Gamecube controller. Maybe if I can't find a new Nintendo one for reasonable price, I can get a Logitech. 

go grab another Gamecube controller then.  I can't imagine them being very expensive.  Matter of fact, I'm pretty sure you can find them dirt cheap.

From what I'm seeing on Amazon, used is fairly cheap, but new can get up there and I'd prefer new if I can help it. I don't know if other people did stupid things with their controller to give it problems. I'll keep looking.

You may just have to grind a bit in P4.  There is usually a save right outside the boss' door.  Start there and grind your way back.  When you can beat the enemies with ease, then you've grind more than enough for the boss.

I had one of those! I eventually traded it for a wired xbox 360 controller because using X360CE for all of my games was annoying, and the xbox controller just felt better.

 But yeah, I use a controller for most games except fps and strategy games.

Good stuff! I think I have the older version of that controller (more PS2 shaped) and I bought mine also to play some retro goodness.

I haven't fired it up in a couple of months but its the usual NES, SNES, and Neo Geo emulators. The NES stuff I started playing on my Wii when I was "tinkering" with it

my bro is working on making his PC be able to play SNES titles, even has a PC SNES controller to boot. makes me wonder if it can even be doen hardware and software wise. Not even the Retron 5 can seem to make it retro perfect.
