Wicked Orchestra

From: Castlevania

Remixed by: Scott Peeples

This remix is way back from 2000, the early days of OCRemix. I was expecting a straight orchestral mix due to the title and it is...with a kickin' beat most of the time. It isn't terribly complicated beyond that but needn't be. This would fit well in one of the actual games. I've had an urge to play some Castlevania lately, so this really gets my blood pumping. Fun stuff.

I'd say this is menu screen music. I honestly think the beat track would take away from the gothic feel too much in an actual level. That's just my preference though. Still enjoyed the song.

For me Castlevania menu music will always be epitomized by the Kyrie in Circle of the Moon. I simply could not believe that soprano's lone voice was coming out of my Game Boy! Super gothic lol.

Good ol Peeples. I've liked his work back in the day and this throwback from the past is no expectiong. I can see this song being used if there was a more kinetic level in a castlevania that was a bit more quick and nimble in player control than the usual movements you'd expect in a castlevania title. Like one of the 3D titles. This song fits perfectly given how my area seems to be expearancing an early fall.

mmmm.....fall.....

I'm actually not familiar with his other work. I'll have to look it up!

Fall sounds wonderful Smile

I didn't expect the song to go into Drum n' Bass, which I found to be a pleasant surprise. It fitted very well with the rest of the instruments.

I know. Drums and orchestra and Castlevania have always seemed to go well together.
