Should we start a Comic Book Club?

I know this is a gaming site, but some people mention comics on here every now and then.

I've been reading/catching up with story lines. Mainly X-Men and Avengers. I would like some feedback from the community as to what everyone is reading, what's worth reading. I don't know about manga? Maybe we can add that as well.

I think maybe post summaries on Mondays about what we read? Maybe make it monthly?

This might not be such a good idea, I admit.

Trees.  That is where I am starting to try to get back into them.

You could just go digital like me. Waking up every Wednesday to download all the new Spider-Man adventures is an awesome way to start the day.

I dunno, I tried going digital and I own some on my ipad but I really like having physical copies.  I might start buying them over the internet.

I went digital too. Sometimes the comic stories suck, so I don't want physical copies. I only buy physical when I like the story and get the whole trade.

I'm all for comics, but there isn't enough participation going on @ Pixlbit for me to commit to buying comics on a regular basis.

I think I'm still the only one ploughing through Demon's Souls for the Game Club lol.

BTW, I only need to kill False King Allant and then I'm in the endgame.  I've been having a blast with it

The gameclub is still an experiment. We weren't really sure how to pace through the game to make it easy for everybody. Some people never got past the first level, others got through half of the game the first week, etc. I still think the game is worth playing, regardless of how much time is put into it. Maybe we'll do a shorter game next time. Everyone was enthusiastic about Demon's Souls at first?
I honestly think that putting a spot light on this game was worth it, if at least one person got through it once or tried it out at all. I remember you being kind of down on this game? Do you still feel the same? How did you take out Maneater?

I was indeed down on it. now its my fave of the trio.  I took the maneater out with a Morion blade

Out of curiousity, what was the game changer for you? A specific level? A boss encounter? What did you think of world 5, e'rbody be hatin that level.

Once I realized I could truly go in any order I want, the game began to open up for me.  I ended up killing the Flamelurker and then sorta felt the other bosses after him weren't quite as hostile.  Plus, magic is pretty overpowered in the game....gonna depend on it less this next playthrough.

World 5 didn't present too much of a challenge for me....I'd say the huge guys with the clubs were the hardest part of it.  The poison didn't bother me so much, as I had a poison res ring, plenty of lotus consumables, and was wearing Old King Doran's armor.  My poison res was in the mid 300's.  I liked the atmosphere....seems to me the Souls games copied it to throughout the series.  I'd have liked to see them get a bit more creative with the poison levels in DS 1 and 2, after having seen how they use it in DeS.

I played Demon Souls for the first two weeks, but I got so disheartened, that I couldn't face it again. It was like an abusive relationship with a really beautiful woman. You want to go back, but you know you'll suffer for it.

I am looking forward to next month's game.

I hope you had fun trying at least. The game is fun, even when you die a lot.

I did have fun. Want to try it again sometime. Maybe it'll be my nostalgic choice for 2009.

that's the best Demon's Souls metaphor I've ever read.  Like a relationship with a beautiful, murderous, bipolar woman.

It'd be like some cursed insect relationship. You'd love her, then she'd eat your head off your neck, then you'd be revived to do it again. Ug!

I've been messing around with New Game Plus the past couple nights.  The difficulty takes a crazy spike...I don't think I'll be going back to it for any more.

I'm all Soul-ed out.

I think new game plus requires a bit of preparation, grinding. I think the game is challenging enough without diving into NewGame+. I really just enjoy the atmos and design. There are plenty of games out to keep busy especially now that Fall games will be releasing soon, and backlogs. I like that Demon's is segmented so you can tackle one world at a time.

I'd love to read more comics, but I'm not sure how committed I could be given my busy schedule.

I buy and read comics every month.  I tend to stay away from most of the traditional super hero comics though.  There are just too many of them.  As of now, the only manga I'm reading is Naruto, which looks like it's going to end real soon.  I read all of Mysterious Girlfriend X.  It's ongoing, but it's been awhile since I saw a new volume for it.  There are other mangas I would like to read.

Maybe we can do comics based on our favorite videogames.  The Witcher and Mass Effect just ended recently.

Do you know of any good Manga review sites? I only know of Manga of my favorite anime like Akira, Evangelion and a couple ok Kingdom Hearts.

Sadly, no.  You should be able to google up something though.  I've only been reading Naruto for the pass 10 years, mainly.  There are some other popular mangas I would like to start reading.  If you run into a good manga review site, let me know.

I was buying comics every week, but last week I had enough. My list was 9 deep! That's "make me broke" level. There was just too much I wanted to follow. However, I am still reading comics every week, I'm just getting what I can out of the libraries with an occasional trade paperback purchase. Right now I'm reading Batman Dark Knight Returns and would love to chat about it in some club here on Pixlbit.

Wish I was still heavily into comics but I still love many of the characters and a few of the more epic archs like Civil War,Infinite earths,Dark-knight returns,Zero Hour, and Age Of Apocolypse.

I have been trying to get my hands on Neil Gaiman's Sandman series. Currently, comic wise I am not reading anything. I have a lot of old comics I read from time to time.

I really like the new Venom. Just a different take on the old Venom but presented differently. His character is fleshed out quite well. As for the old Venom he's an OG.

I'd like some recommendations as well. I am a gigantic Cap fan. I also love Deadpool, Batman, Superman (sometimes) Green Lantern, the Wretch(Never really read any of this)
