In today's blog, The Original Ser catches up after missing a day. Oops.

*****

Is this thing on? Awesome. OK, sorry for missing yesterday. I was out doing a bunch of stuff, and I completely forgot. Then, I had to be online for a live stream with Press Pause Radio; George played throguh Starfox 2 while I tackled the first game live. It was pretty sweet, though I've had way better runs.

Today, we celebrated our rat Astrid's birthday! She's 1. And she's super cute. And apparently doesn't like cake. But I snapped a couple great pics. Enjoy!

Well, she's a lot cuter than the cat-sized brwn rat that swam towards me in our swimming pool last summer, I'll give you that.

I actually caught your fight with Andross yesterday, but then I think the stream went out on my end. Never knew how similar that ending is to 64's.

The fight with Andross worked out on my end, but my computer crashed pretty bad for some reason soon afterwrds LOL

Oh, Astrid's adorable! I love the white spot on her hood. Cute pictures of rodents give you a pass on a missed day of blogging, as far as I'm concerned.

I thought that might be the case Tongue Out

Wow, you have a rat.  How long do they live?  My son thinks your rat is cool and he's giving me that, "I want a rat" look.  I doubt his mother will let that happen. Laughing

They can live to be up to four years old, but that's an exceptional time. 2-3 years seems to be the average. If I could recommend any rodent? Definitely a rat! They're like smaller, mouse-shaped dogs. Just as intelligent and super loyal and affectionate!

I concur with Ser. Rats are intelligent and affectionate and pretty easy to take care of. I had a friend who used to give her rat free range of the house and he would come when you whistled. And they come in a variety of coats and colors. Rex rats have curly hair, hooded rats are like Astrid and have hoods. One of the things I like best about them is they like to snuggle. And they're really clean, they constantly groom themselves.

after living in New York, I don't think I could snuggle with a rat.  But I appreciate they can be thoughtful animals.

There's a pretty big difference between the norwegian rats we call pets and the bigger ones you'd find in NYC, but I can see what you mean. Heck, we have rats out here in Nova Scotia that dwarf any cat I've ever seen!

Astrid give non-stop kisses. She's a prtty great rat, if over-energetic!
