A highlight from the Tokyo Game Show this week. The internet is buzzing over this. I for one am just relieved that I'm finally going to get to play this game and complete the Fabula Nova Crystallis saga or whatever. Also, Type-0 has a set launch date for March '15 and a demo of this game is said to be included. The bad, or good depending on how you feel about him, Nomura is off this project and is instead beind finished by the dude that made Crisis Core and 3rd Birthday. Nomura is working on Kingdom Hearts 3 though.

I haven't watched this yet.  I don't know why.  I am excited though.  Trying not to ge hyped.  Don't want to be disappointed with whatever it is (unless it totally sucks) Wink

I'm just happily playing Curtain Call.  I don't guess they'll ever make FF games like the ones I used to play as a kid on the SNES.

Bravely Default? A Realm Reborn? I get what you're saying though. I don't know what will come after XV though? Will they keep with that modern action feel, or eventually go back to magic/fantasy?

Yeah they should've called Bravely Default a Final Fantasy game.

Don't get me wrong, I love Nomura but I haven't gelled with his vision of FF for quite awhile. (Though I still want to play Lightning Returns) And being I loved Crisis Core and even 3rd Birthday (Despite the obvious flaws in 3rd Birthday) I'd really love to play the future FFs with that new team being at the helm. Ah,things to look forward to!

I think that is the consensus of FF fans. They want SE to go back to old forms: Active Time Battle System, World Exploration, etc. In a way, I feel FF fans want new games to fail to reboot the franchise already which is a shame because I think Fabulous New Crystal or whatever was very interesting, despite the complaints. I really liked Type-0 as well. Very, very dark. And you know how I like my games. Cool

Have people outside of SE played it yet? I refuse to believe it's actually a game until it is shown publicly playable. This thing looks gorgeous. I just hope the bulk of the story isn't delivered via GTA-style car rides...

No. It seems it was just a trailer. And there is already skepticism about whether or not it will maintain the same visual quality when it launches. It seems more like fans just want to play whatever SE puts out because they've been waiting so long and don't care if it's good or bad. At least that's what I get from reading forums and twitter and such. There is said to be a playable demo included with Type-0 in March, so it must be close to finished if they are releasing a demo so soon. It's just six month's away.

I think if anything the gameplay trailer reminds people that Final Fantasy is ever changing, and each new installment brings new elements and a chance for a fresh start. We had almost a decade of XIII stuff, and it's time for something new. Personally I do think the graphics can look this good, and I dig the idea of FF creatures invading a "real" world.

I'll just have to stomach more of that tired Nomura design, which is running rampant in this one.

The car and open world remind me of FF8, which I actually liked. But people are going apeshit over there being a car in this game, like GTA. You just can't please FF fans. We shall wait and see.

This is what Japanese hipsters look like then? Ok.

Nomura sucks cocks. No wonder this game actually looks decent: he's not involved anymore. Sure the host club characters are obviously his doing, but the Bro'd Trip vibe balances out his fashion disaster tendencies.  Nice to see SE making a little bit of a comeback with the Bravely games and (hopefully) this.

Im more excited for Type O at the moment, though im def happy about the news of the demo. If 15 can atleast make a jump of improvement over ff13 ill actually be happy with it. Im not expecting old FF back really anytime soon. I mean Realm Reborn did bring it back in its own way being an MMO but as a single player offline game I still think its good while away if it is to make a return.

One issue I am having with 15 is that a dev stated that the game would be nerfed for casuals and it's designed to be beaten with the use of a single button. I don't know what that means? I'm scared. Very scared!

I think it goes without saying that I'm all over this lol

We can stop holding our breathe now. Relief! I really like Crisis Core and Type-0 so I have hope for this game. Crisis Core guy is working on 15 now. The 13 director isn't involved with these games.
